Tevin Petrie With 10 games played, the senior running back from Norton was among the top 20 in rushing for the state as he surpassed 1,200 yards for the season with 15 touchdowns. Petrie rushed for at least 100 yards in seven games, racking up a season-best 210 yards against Thomas More Prep-Marian in the UHJXODU VHDVRQ ÆQDOH WR JR along with three scores. He rushed for three or more scores three times and had four touchdowns in a 208-yard performance against Oakley.

The fourth time came after his performance in the Tigers’ MIAA clinching 13-12 victory at Northwest Missouri State University on Nov. 4. Brown connected RQ ÆHOG JRDOV RI DQG yards to tie the game and take the lead, then made the extra point on FHSU’s lone touchdown that ended up being the difference in the ball game.

Chris Cox A senior on the Hoxie High School football team, Cox through 10 games played had 11 sacks for the Indians. A transfer from Oakley High School, Cox — also a fullback and offensive lineman — recorded 20.5 tackles for loss in that same span and 50 total tackles. He only recorded sacks in four games, getting three twice and four once with a lone sack in a loss to St. Francis.

Kacey Kennett A 6-foot sophomore guard for the Fort Hays State University women’s basketball team, Kennett had a solid preseason in exhibition games against Division I powerhouse UConn and Kansas State UNiversity, QRWFKLQJ GRXEOH ÆJXUHV in each contest. Kennett put up 16 points in the Tigers’ 82-37 loss at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn., then posted 10 points with a pair of 3s against Kansas State at Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan.
