What You See is Just the Beginn Red Wing, MN • This rivertown is overflowing with activities for all ages. In fact, there are so many we can’t list them all. To help you sort through them, we’ve divided the town into four distinct districts – each offering its own unique type of excitement. Choose one for a day trip or choose them all for a longer stay!
Historic Downtown In addition to charming architecture and historical significance, Red Wing’s downtown district is well-equipped for a day (or more) of fun. Start your morning with an invigorating run on one of the many walking loops featured on RedWing.org. Afterwards, fuel up with a downhome breakfast from Bev’s Café or a stylish brunch at The Veranda. The Aliveo Military Museum or the All-American Ski Jumping Museum are great places to take in a ton of interesting information. Meander

Old West Main Street the downtown streets as you pop in and out of several shops offering retail therapy. There are antiques, jewelry, books, clothing, pottery, art, gifts, and more! Have lunch at Liberty’s Restaurant and Lounge or Marie’s Underground Grill & Tap House, and then hit the shopping court of the St. James Hotel for an afternoon of pampering and shopping. Wrap up your day with a show at Sheldon Theatre, followed by fine dining at The Port or a unique gastro-experience at The Staghead.
This unique part of Red Wing is home to a few of our most popular destinations. Thinking about a bike ride? Old West Main St. hosts the access point for the Cannon Valley Trail. In the mood for a drink? Check out Kelly’s Tap House and Grill or the Red Wing Brewery. Try a T-bone on the rooftop at Bayside Tap & Steakhouse, or go underground in a tunnel leading to a walking trail.

On the Edge
Enjoy Your Stay
What better place than a river city for a day on the water? The Red Wing riverfront has something for everyone – regardless of activity level. Visitors looking for a relaxing day can launch their boat out of Ole Miss Marina or Red Wing Marina or walk the path from Bay Point Park to Levee Park. Families can keep the kids entertained at the Red Wing Water Park in Colvill Park. Avid sportsmen can fish the Mississippi with Eagles Cliff Guide Service. Many parks – and even restaurants! – offer fantastic views of the water.
The outskirts of town are not to be missed. You can stop by Falconer Vineyards and Flower Valley Vineyard for a taste of local wine. Visit the Anderson Center for their outdoor sculpture garden and Hobgoblin Music for their instrument museum and music. Take a tour at Minnesota State College Southeast and even venture up to Treasure Island Resort and Casino for entertainment and more.
There is so much going on in Red Wing all through the year that we’d be surprised if you could do our rivertown justice in just one day. Book a room at one of the many bed & breakfasts or hotels and spread out the fun.

Of course, the first things you’ll see when you begin your stroll are the lusciously colorful baskets hanging from light poles in the downtown districts. Containing geraniums, petunias, calibrachoa, and more - these flowering moss baskets have been adorning the streetlights for more than 25 years. As a result of numerous fundraising efforts, the Noontime Kiwanis Club, local volunteers, the city, and area nurseries started with a mere 18 baskets. Now they spread throughout town. Sargent’s Nursery and Hallstrom’s Florist & Greenhouses craft these beautiful baskets each year and now you can too! Both locations offer convenient classes, so you can create your very own Red Wing flower basket. Choose to replicate the gorgeous arrangements you see in Red Wing, or add a personal touch with the flowers of your choice – just be sure to follow the directions for care given by your instructor.
Pollinator Park Now, let’s continue on our stroll. Head to the intersection of Main and Broad streets. Here you’ll find what’s now known as Pollinator Park. New to Red Wing in 2016, Pollinator Park is dedicated to the protection of… well…pollinators. That’s right, honeybees, butterflies, and many other pollinating creatures call this mini-park home, but you can visit! The paved walkways, various benches, and tribute sculpture, along with the gorgeous flora and fauna, make Pollinator Park a must-see for any floral enthusiast.

Discovery Garden You can find our Discovery Garden at Colvill Park (510 Nymphara Lane). Made up of nine different gardens–each with their own theme– the Discovery Garden includes herbs, flowers, and even tomatoes that grow in wheelchair accessible, raised bed gardens. With a mission to be “an inspiring space for children of all ages and abilities to explore and learn in a natural setting,” you’ll want to return to the Discovery Garden again and again. Be sure to visit in the summer months to maximize your exploration.
Universal Playground While there may not be flowers, the Universal Playground is located nearby the Discovery Garden in Colvill Park and should not be missed if you have kids. It’s the largest of Red Wing’s 18 playgrounds and it’s also handicap accessible for both kids and adults.

Come enjoy the beauty of the river bluffs as you walk through our vineyard and taste our wines! ning Wine Win s d r
Are you a wine connoisseur or are you a beer buff? It’s easy to find a
fabulous glass or pint in Red Wing, regardless of your preference! The beautiful bluff country of Red Wing is home to two vineyards that grow and produce a variety of fine wines: Flower Valley Vineyards and Falconer Vineyards & Winery. Find Flower Valley Vineyards mere minutes south of Red Wing in the Flower Valley region located at the base of the bluffs. Dave, Mary, and Tom Mohn established the vineyard in 2002 when they converted from family farming to grapegrowing. Now, the family is known for producing an assortment of “serious wines,” but don’t let that deter you! Fun prevails at Flower Valley Vineyards whether it be sampling the selection in the tasting room or celebrating in the historic timber frame barn available for events. Head to the west side of Red Wing and you’ll find the lovely 6.5 acre grounds of Falconer
Vineyards & Winery. This wine haven was established in 2003 and focuses on using cold climate grapes (which are grapes designed specifically for our frigid Minnesota winters) and produce some hard cider as well. Their scenic location is home to a tasting room, event hosting, entertainment such as their Music in the Vine series, and a seasonal deck bistro with woodfired pizzas for your palette pleasure. You can also stay in town and enjoy a wide variety of wine selections from Oliver’s Wine Bar or The Port in the St. James Hotel. Grab your friends and try a flight! Prefer a good beer? Specializing in small-batch brewing, Red Wing Brewery produces 6-7 barrels of historic ales every week. In addition to their own brews, the establishment also regularly features guest beers on tap! These beers are either new to the market or everyday favorites in the craft beer community. Don’t forget to bring the family – pizza and family beverages are available to all patrons of this local favorite. Don’t forget to try their pizza of the month!
