T

he Federal Government has proposed to spend N1.22 trillion as fuel subsidy in the

N4.817.76 trillion budget for 2015. The figure includes N971.4 billion as subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise known petrol and N250 billion as

subsidy on kerosene. The Federal Government, according to the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP), has also projected

N7.286.89 trillion as total earnings on oil and gas sales for 2015 with N3.716.82 billion being proposed as crude oil sales. Meanwhile, the Senate yesterday referred the

MTEF and FSP sent to it by President Goodluck Jonathan to its Committees on Finance and National Planning for further legislative action. CONTINUED ON PAGE 6

policies taken by his predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi. At his inauguration, Fayose said he won’t recognise the 19 new local

council development areas created by the Fayemi administration. Also, the governor nullified all appointments,
