espite the outrage that trailed the plan by the Federal Government
to merge two key aviation agencies, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) and the Nigerian Civil Aviation
Authority (NCAA), the government has concluded plans to implement the policy by month end. The Steve Oronsanye
committee had in April recommended the merger of the two critical aviation agencies, a recommendation which the Federal
Government in its White Paper on the report, accepted. The committee proposed that NAMA, NCAA and the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, (NIMET)
be merged to form a new agency to be known as the Federal Civil Aviation Authority (FCAA) while their respective enabling laws are to be amended CONTINUED ON PAGE 2
