he Federal Government yesterday approved $1 billion for the upgrade of gas infrastructure to ensure steady

supply to power plants to boost electricity provision nationwide. The decision was taken at a power sector stakeholders’ meeting held at the State House, Abuja. Niger Delta Power Hold-

ing Company (NDPHC) Managing Director, Mr. James Olotu, told State House correspondents that the initiative was part of government’s bid to boost power supply, which has drastically gone down re-

cently due to acute shortage of gas to power the electricity plants. According to Olotu, the amount is to be sourced from the resources allocated to the NDPHC with the active involvement of
