he Federal Government has earmarked N752 billion for the

expansion of electricity transmission network in the next five years as part of efforts to improve the supply of electricity in the country.

The money, which will be used to extend the national grid to several parts of the country, is going to be sourced from the national budget and

supplemented with funds from international and multilateral agencies such as African Development Bank (AfDB), Islamic Development Bank (IDB),

the World Bank Group (WBG) and Japan International Corporation Agency (JICA). Vice-President Namadi Sambo said yesterday in

nother nurse who attended to the Liberian-American, Mr. Patrick Sawyer, who died of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in Lagos, has died, bringing the number of deaths from Ebola recorded in Lagos to four.

Besides Sawyer, the index case, and the nurse whose death was announced yesterday, others that have been killed by the virus are one of the nurses that treated the index case and a Protocol Officer with the ECOWAS Commission, Jatto Asihu Abdulqudir, who assisted the CONTINUED ON PAGE 2

fter four months of acrimonious debates that accentuated the nation’s fault lines, delegates yesterday set aside their primordial sentiments to unanimously adopt the final report of the 2014 National Confer-

ence amidst jubilation. The unanimous adoption of the three volumes of the report put to rest speculations that the national dialogue would end in disarray because certain interest groups were not comfortable with the resolutions contained in the final report. CONTINUED ON PAGE 2
