Countdown begins for New York Times' debut in New Telegraph Biodun Durojaiye

he International edition of the New York Times, a newspaper popular with business and political leaders across the world, will
make its debut in Nigeria on October 6 as an insert in the New Telegraph. Political and business leaders in Nigeria are already excited about this development, which offers them a window to
market their products and services to the international community. The Board of Editors of the New Telegraph have since been working round the clock to ensure a hitch-free take-
off of the weekly insert and are leaving nothing to chance. The International New York Times insert, which is to be published every Monday, is sequel to the granting of an
exclusive licence by the New York Times to New Telegraph, to print and distribute the publication in Nigeria every week for the next three years. As a result, business

resident Goodluck Jonathan yesterday conferred National Honours on 305 Nigerians
and foreigners. At the ceremony held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, Jonathan announced the appointment of the national flag designer, Mr. Michael
Taiwo Akinkumi, a recipient of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) category, as a special assistant to the president. He is to be placed on a lifetime salary.
