begun screening of passengers arriving from Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, where there is outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) in a bid to curtail further
spread of the disease to Nigeria “Screening and monitoring is being done at all major international airports. It entails checking
passengers’ temperatures with a hand-held machine,” NCAA spokesman Sam Adurogboye said in a report yesterday by Reuters.
He added the screening targets passengers whose journey passed through Liberia, Guinea or Sierra Leone. A compulsory blood test

he Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police, Zone 7, Mr. Su-
leiman Abba, has been named a replacement for the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed D. Abubakar, who retired yesterday, having spent 35 years in service.
Abubakar, whose tenure expired yesterday, was appointed the 16th indigenous IG in January 2012. A statement yesterday by presidential spokesman, Dr. Reuben Abati,
said President Goodluck Jonathan had approved the new appointment. Abba, in company with Abubakar held a crucial meeting with the president at the State House, Abuja,
