ven as the Federal Government continues to grapple with the Boko Haram insurgency
in the North-East, gunmen identified as Fulani herdsmen again struck in Katsina yesterday slaughtering about 69 persons. A member of the House of Assembly, Ab-
bas Abdullahi Michika, who confirmed the killings, said the gunmen, who came on motorbikes, attacked the four villages of Mararrabar Maigora, Kura Mota, Unguwar
Rimi and Maigora. Police Commissioner, Hurdi Mohammed, gave a lower casualty figure of 30, and said the violence was perpetrated by ethnic Fulani herdsmen.
“So far, 69 bodies have been recovered from the attacks carried out by a large group of gunmen riding on motorcycles,” said Michika, adding that

governor, Damishi Luka Barau, to hoist the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the premises of the Governor and Deputy Governor’s Offices.
