nce again, the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Attahiru Jega, has dashed hope on the

commission's ability to keep to election timeline with the postponement of the February general elections. Jega did this in 2011 and has repeated the same feat

front page comment in 2015. In the 2011 elections, Jega almost bungled the electoral process when, citing logistics

challenge, he delayed the election by one week. Prior to the commencement of the election in April 2011,

he had assured the nation and the international community of the readiness of his commission to go ahead with the elections. But on Election

the referral of a suit challenging his eligibility to re-contest in the forthcoming presidential election to the Court of Appeal. His main challenger in the election, Major Gen-

eral Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC), however, challenged two suits filed before the Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, seeking to disqualify him
