The Daytona Beach International Airport was briefly evacuated early on May 11 when John Greenwood, 25, caused a ruckus as he rode around the baggage carousel in the nude, trying to get out onto the tarmac, reported News4Jax. Sheriff’s deputies shocked him with a Taser, to which he responded: “We gotta get outta here, there’s a bomb going to go off. I planted a bomb in the bathroom.” After sweeping the airport, officials found no explosives, but Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said they did find Greenwood’s clothes in a backpack hidden in a hole in the bathroom wall. Described by Chitwood as a frequent flyer, Greenwood is known to local law enforcement, and he admitted taking drugs on Thursday night. He faces several charges after the incident.

In this week’s installment of foreign objects stuck in body cavities: Mr. Li of China’s Guangdong Province went to the doctor on June 15 at Pingshan Hospital in Shenzhen after feeling discomfort and pain in his ear. Using an otoscope scan, the doctor discovered a live cockroach burrowing into the 52-year-old man’s ear canal. “It’s still alive, still moving,” the doctor can be heard on video saying, according to The Daily Mail. She cut the roach into pieces to remove it and disinfected Li’s ear with alcohol in case it had laid eggs.

Victoria, Australia, he tripped over an eggplant during a dispute with a man who had run over his dog, which caused the gun Russo was carrying to go off, striking David Calandro in the head and killing him. Calandro and a friend had gone to Russo’s farm on Feb. 18, 2017, to buy some chilies, 9News reported, but as he drove away, Russo’s dog, Harry, began barking and chasing the vehicle. Calandro swerved toward the dog to “spook him,” the friend told a Victorian Supreme Court jury on May 23, but swerved too far, running over the dog instead. Russo pleaded guilty to manslaughter on May 25.

Before Chuck E. Cheese was a thing, it was ShowBiz Pizza, complete with the Rock-afire Explosion Band, an animatronic combo that is still the stuff of nightmares. On May 24, the Rock-afire Explosion Band was reunited at a new arcade bar in Kansas City, Missouri, also called Rock-afire. The band’s inventor, Aaron Fechter of Creative Engineering in Orlando, Florida, refurbished the band

If summer’s heat is making you anxious about body odor, you might want to investigate a helpful gadget launched on July 1 by Japanese health tech company Tanita: the ES-100, an odor-sensing device that will detect body odor or too much perfume or cologne. IT Media reported that the user simply points the sensor toward the underarm area (or other problematic spots), and in 10 seconds a numerical score will appear on the LED display. If you’re a 10, you’re not a 10.

Rowdy Lapham, owner of Old to Gold Hardwood Floors in Grand Rapids, Michigan, arrived at work May 21 to find that someone had broken in. Surveillance footage showed that around 2 a.m. the day before, a burglar had thrown a rock through his store window, apparently tempted by the “gold” bars stacked in the window. Unfortunately for the thief, the bars are promotional items made of foam rubber and stamped with the store’s logo, reported WZZM-TV. The squeezable bars are meant for stress relief, employee Nick Butler said, supporting the company’s motto of “stress-free flooring. I think this falls under you can’t fix stupid.” Jen Sorensen

When Daryl Royal Riedel, 48, was pulled over for suspected drunk driving June 14 by Monroe County (Florida) Sheriff’s Deputy Anthony Lopez, he first drove off, but thought better of it and stopped to face the music. Riedel, who claimed to be scared, then stepped out of his truck with an open can of beer and chugged the contents as Lopez watched. The Associated Press reported that Riedel has four prior DUI arrests and now faces felony DUI, fleeing from a deputy, driving with a suspended license and failure to submit to a breath test.

CZECH THIS OUT

Czechoslovakian president Milos Zeman called a press conference on June 14 in Prague, where Zeman instructed two firefighters in protective gear to incinerate a huge pair of red underpants as reporters watched. The underwear had been hoisted during a 2015 protest at Prague Castle, replacing the presidential flag and symbolizing Zeman’s close relationship with Russia and China. Zeman told reporters, according to the Associated Press: “I’m sorry to make you look like little idiots, you really don’t deserve it.” Zeman’s longstanding difficulties with the press include an incident last year when he waved a fake machine gun at them.

Wa Tiba, 54, disappeared on June 14 while tending her vegetable garden on Muna Island in the Southeast Sulawesi province of Indonesia. Her family found only her sandals, a machete and a flashlight in the garden, but just 50 yards away, villagers located a 23-foot-long python with a severely bloated midsection. Fox News reported that when the snake’s belly was cut open, it revealed the woman’s fully intact body inside, still wearing all her clothes. Villager Ayu Kartika said, “Everyone cried and was in shock. It looked like a horror movie.”

In California, some bed-and-breakfast establishments are employing a new marketing twist: “bud and breakfast.” For example, CBS News reports, Erin

When Juan Ramon Alfonso Penayo, 20, of Santa Teresa, Paraguay, failed to return after leaving his home June 14, his family assumed the worst. The town lies on the border with Brazil, reported the BBC, and is a hotbed of illegal drug activity. Police found a charred body three days later and called Penayo’s family, who, despite being unable to identify the remains, accepted that it must be him and proceeded with funeral arrangements. As they mourned over his casket during the wake, Penayo walked nonchalantly into the room. The body in the casket was returned to the morgue, and Penayo’s family celebrated his return.

Visitors to Merlion Park in Singapore on June 8 were startled to see Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump enjoying a casual walkabout, hand-in-hand. On closer inspection, however, they would have seen the two men were Howard X, a Kim impersonator, and Dennis Alan, a Trump impersonator, who traveled to Singapore in advance of the June 12 summit meeting between the two real leaders. Janette Warokka of Indonesia was fooled: “It’s so shocking for me. I don’t know why those two famous guys come here,” she told the Associated Press. Airport officials were less amused when Kim’s doppelganger, whose real name is Lee Howard Ho Wun, arrived at Changi Airport. Wun said police officers searched his bags and detained him for two hours before releasing him with stern warnings to stay away from the summit. Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority said Wun was interviewed for about 45 minutes.

In North Port, Florida, a witness watched on June 17 as 75-year-old Helena Molnar beat an unnamed man with a water jug after he watered her plants. When he emptied the rest of the water in the jug on her plants, she went inside her house and returned with a different weapon, which the witness didn’t see but said “made a different sound” than the water

In the northeastern town of Teesside, England, in August 2017, 22-year-old Jordan Easton of Thornaby was at the home of a friend, hanging out in the kitchen, when he boasted that his vest was “stab-proof.” To prove it, he “took hold a knife to demonstrate,” Karin Welsh, Teesside assistant coroner, testified, “and sadly realized it wasn’t the case.” Teesside Live reported Easton was rushed to the hospital, but doctors weren’t able to save him. Detective Superintendent Ted Butcher also testified at Easton’s inquest on June 16 that he found no evidence Easton intended to harm himself and died after “a boisterous act.” Welsh recorded a verdict of “misadventure.”

DEMOCRAT INCUMBENTS TANK IN PRIMARY WIPEOUT Either run as a Democrat and serve as a Democrat, or get out of the way. That was the message Democratic voters sent to several key members of the New York state Legislature in last week’s primary elections. In one fell swoop, two-thirds of a rogue group of state senators who had once made up the Independent Democratic Conference (IDC) were bested by progressive candidates daring to challenge them. Atop the shellacking was the IDC’s former leader, state Sen. Jeff Klein, a seven-term incumbent from the Bronx and one of Albany’s most powerful politicians. Klein was defeated in a stunning upset by Alessandra Biaggi, a young Hillary Clinton campaign staffer. Former IDC members Tony Avella and Jose Peralta of Queens, Jesse Hamilton of Brooklyn, and Marisol Alcántara of Manhattan also lost their primaries. Also apparently defeated was Central New York’s own Sen. Dave Valesky, who currently represents the city of Syracuse and parts of Onondaga, Madison and Oneida counties. Valesky, first elected in 2004, has yet to concede the election to Syracuse University administrator Rachel May, who has also yet to declare victory due to close results. The only former IDC members who survived were Sens. Diane Savino, of Staten Island, and David Carlucci, of Rockland County. This is about more than just incumbents losing. This primary election toppled one of the most powerful legislative factions in government — one that has had a strong influence on the direction of New York state policy for the last seven years. It is, by all intents and purposes, the end of an era in New York politics. The IDC was made up of eight Democratic state sen-

ators, including Valesky, who co-founded the group in 2011 and served as its deputy leader. The coalition broke with their party to caucus with the Republicans, effectively helping the GOP maintain control of the Senate in exchange for receiving committee leadership positions, campaign cash and several other benefits. At times, the IDC has kept Republicans in control of the Senate even though Democrats have had the numerical majority. The strategic power-leveraging agreement became so dominant that Sen. Klein became the fourth addition to the long-fabled “three men in the room” : the governor, Assembly speaker and Senate majority leader who secretly negotiate the state budget and much of its landmark policy decisions. It’s not just the Senate Republicans who have benefited from the IDC. Gov. Andrew Cuomo has also used it to his political advantage. He has been able to use them as an excuse for why he can’t pass progressive legislation, while satisfying the state’s moderate Republican voters at the same time. Politico reported in 2014, quoting anonymous sources, that the governor was actually “deeply involved” in the creation of the IDC and “absolutely” encouraged a partnership that would give the opposite party control of the Senate. Cuomo’s alleged private involvement and his public lackluster effort to unite the IDC with rank-and-file Democrats has helped fuel progressive candidates’ ambitions to take on the group, blaming it for years of stonewalling of progressive legislation in Albany. The IDC suddenly disbanded back in April, with its members rejoining Senate Democrats. The former members then went back home to fend off opponents and

counter their arguments that they “weren’t progressive enough,” as Valesky put it in a recent TV advertisement. But after avoiding re-election losses for the last few cycles, this time it caught up with them. The complex IDC structure became known to more than just political experts. Progressive candidates were successful in painting IDC members as “fake Democrats,” traitors and “sham progressives.” Why was it different this time? Because national Democrats are out for blood, seeking to unseat Republican control from either or both chambers of Congress in an effort to stop the man at the top: President Donald Trump. National politics has trickled down to the state level and put a certain mindset in Democratic voters: In the Trump era, any Democrat who helps the Republicans cannot be trusted. At best, disbanding of the IDC by its members temporarily put an end to it. But the ousting of its members destroyed it once and for all. What does this mean for the balance of power in Albany? If Democrats are successful in regaining control of the state Senate in November, and if Cuomo is re-elected to a third term, New York may very well see some of its most liberal legislation to date. Recreational marijuana legalization, single-payer health insurance and providing undocumented immigrants with college tuition assistance are practically on our doorstep as we speak. And if Democrats retake the Senate, the Republican Party will be paralyzed in a completely Democratic-controlled government for at least the next two years. Voters have managed to transform the state in one single election. New York is at a political turning point of proportions we cannot yet comprehend. Buckle up. SNT

FAST AND FURIOUS FARCE OPENS SYRACUSE STAGE SEASON The freshness and surprise of an expertly executed farce are immediate and universal. No one ever read Cliff’s Notes to get to the hidden meaning of a farce, but Robert Hupp’s direction of Michael Frayn’s Noises Off — running through Sept. 30 at Syracuse Stage — zips by so speedily that laggards will miss some of the gags. Far from being mindless, what Noises Off has to say about vanity and art resonates deeply. Since its London opening in 1982, Noises Off has been widely performed. Most audiences know what they’re getting into, as with Cats or The Odd Couple. This may enhance, rather than ruin the fun. The opening-night crowd barely suppressed applause when it viewed scenic designer John Iacovelli’s luminous Cotswald-elegant paneled set, featuring seven slammable doors and an eighth with a curtain for even faster exits. It looks sturdy and, better yet, has about an inch clearance from the floor, making room for silent casters. We need to explain the premise, however. Action opens on a late-night technical rehearsal of a sex farce titled Nothing On in a presumably dreary theater in the town of Weston-super-Mare. Nobody’s prepared and everything is going badly. Cockney housekeeper Mrs. Clackett explains in a telephone conversation (the most flat-footed form of exposition) that the owners, Philip and Flavia Brent, are tax exiles in Spain. They are English people who pledge to live outside the country most of the time but will pay dearly if they are found at home. Showing up unexpectedly is real estate agent Roger Tramplemain, who would like to sell the property but meanwhile uses it for sin with his girlfriend Vicki. Each performer has two identities, one off the stage and one on. Dori Legg, for example, plays both Dotty Otley, a nominal lead actress in Nothing On, as well as the chatterbox Mrs. Clackett. Offstage actors have quite different personalities, too. Offstage Dotty has something going on with the much younger Garry Lejeune (Seth Andrew Bridges), playing the horny real estate agent Roger. Garry reads Roger’s lines ably, but when he’s out of character is the most inarticulate member of the company, unable to finish a thought without stumbling into chaos. While all of this is great fun for the actors, it’s easier to follow than it sounds. To reduce confusion, the Syracuse Stage program has two cast lists. One gives the people hired for the production and whose portraits

appear with short bios. Before the title page, following playwright Frayn’s instructions, are the bogus programs for Nothing On. The plot of Nothing On could not be simpler. Two couples would like some discreet rumpy-pumpy but keep intruding on each other. Roger really does have a client for the property, a hooded Arab sheikh who turns up late in the action. And the house will be entered by an incompetent burglar, played by the incorrigible tippler Selsdon Mowbray (Brad Bellamy). Three more characters appear in Noises Off who are not part of Nothing On, starting with the constantly exasperated director Lloyd Dallas (Andrew Ramcharan Guilarte), an unrestrained philanderer. Not only is he intimate with Brooke Ashton (Eliza Huberth), playing the estate agent’s often scantily clad main squeeze Vicki, but he has impregnated the hyper-sensitive assistant stage manager Poppy Norton-Taylor (Kate Hamill). The constantly oppressed stage manager Tim Allgood (Blake Segal) must cover emergencies as best he can when performers don’t appear on stage. Audiences familiar with earlier productions of Noises Off will notice some changes here, many at the request of the playwright. Frayn has tinkered constantly with the script and allows the rights to a professional company like Syracuse Stage only if it uses the most recent version, from the year 2000. Thus, there are more gags with the plate of sardines, the prop no one can keep track of, plus more physical comedy, fights with broomsticks and a dazzling tumble down the stairs. Whether it comes from Frayn or director Hupp, the character of director Lloyd Dallas (Guilarte) is more sympathetic than previous incarnations. Earlier Lloyds have been threatening offstage voices, barking martinets like Zach in A Chorus Line. Here he enters through

the fourth wall, employing an aisle as a vom, and once on stage he is more likely to plead than to demand. And in the madcap third act he has to fill in for a role, upping the ante of his stage manager. The paradox of this production is that as the action becomes more frenzied, with offstage actors chasing each other with axes, it also becomes more tightly choreographed. It takes twice as much practice to get things perfectly wrong. Hupp is presenting a hand that looks very much like the one in The Three Musketeers from last season. Once again, our director is the star. Every member of the cast is in top form but divide generally between the verbals and physicals. Some do both, like Dori Legg as the ever-present Dotty/Clackett and Seth Andrew Bridges as the tongue-tied shouter Garry, who also takes a nosedive down the stairs. Kate Hamill turns the anguish of the misused Poppy into unexpected humor, while Brad Bellamy wrings more laughter out of Selsdon’s modest lines than has been seen in previous productions. As for the physicals, Eliza Huberth is the major scene-stealer as the nylons and garter-belt wearing Brooke/Vicki. This Juilliard graduate is constantly in motion, mouthing other characters’ lines, trying to cover from what purportedly is a sense of inadequacy. BEYOND THE BLUE LINE

With lakes, museums and camping, the Adirondacks offer much more than spectacular fall foliage By J.T. Hall Like the winter, autumn in the mountains shows up early. And like summer in the mountains, it disappears just as quickly.

Usually about two weeks ahead of Central New York, the shorter days of the Adirondack autumn are welcomed by a portion of the mountains’ 10 million annual visitors, who appreciate the brilliant foliage of the boreal forest, smaller crowds, fewer bugs and moderating temperatures. For sure, some of the tourist attractions in the 6-million-acre wilderness have closed for the season, but autumn is nonetheless a season of special enticements in the Adirondacks. Camping in the wilderness is one of the Adirondacks’ most popular options, and the New York State Parks excel in providing the car-camping experience. Although many of the 42 sites within the park’s Blue Line boundary shutter on Labor Day, several easily accessible sites remain open into October, including Eighth Lake, Lake Durant, Indian Lake, and Lake Eaton Campgrounds. Site availability and reservations can be accessed at newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com. The Old Forge area, just a two-hour drive from Syracuse, offers recreational options throughout the year. Get a hawk’s-eye view of the mountains and fall foliage by riding the chair lift at McCauley Mountain, open Fridays through Sundays through Columbus Day. Or take the one-mile hike up nearby Bald Mountain, on Rondaxe Road off Route 28 north of Old Forge, for another eye-popping panorama. In nearby Raquette Lake, the Great Camp Sagamore is the 27-building complex built during the Gilded Age by William West Durant. The camp offers many autumnal options for visitors, with seasonal programs and accommodations. View, the recent name for the former Arts Center of Old Forge, schedules exhibitions, workshops, and performances throughout the year. Further up the road on Route 30 in Blue Mountain Lake is the Adirondack Experience, also known as the Adirondack Museum. The venue has received plaudits for its exhibitions, such as the immersive, 19,000-square-foot interactive Life in the Adirondacks, as well as its permanent collections of art and watercraft. Also on Route 30, find the trailhead to Blue Mountain, then embark on a strenuous 2-mile climb with a life-altering view of the surrounding mountains, including the high peaks to the northeast. Further up Route 30 in Tupper Lake is the Wild Center, the natural history museum, zoo and educational complex. This unique rustic-modern facility abuts the Raquette River and offers many special events and activities, including canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding, plus workshops and performances. The “Wild Walk,” an elevated walkway above the tree tops, provides a unique visual perspective. At one end of this aerie you will find an eagle’s nest, a perch from which to ogle the multi-chromatic display below. The facility

Both the Wild Center and the Adirondack Experience are understandably regarded as the finest institutions of their kind in the country. There’s still time to launch canoes or kayaks in the Adirondacks’ 2,500 miles of navigable waterways. Old Forge Pond sits at the base of the Fulton Chain of Lakes and provides a starting point for a good paddle toward Fourth Lake and Inlet and beyond. Additional public boat launch sites are available throughout the Adirondacks; visit dec.ny.gov for information. Autumn also provides quieter waters, since many of the area’s motorized craft have already called it a season. For a tranquil river paddle, Mountainman Outdoor Supply on Route 28 in Old Forge offers rentals of canoes or kayaks (or bring your own) for transportation up the Moose River and a scenic paddle/float back. The Center for the Arts’ autumn slate features John Hiatt, Paula Cole and the Blind Boys of Alabama By Jessica Novak Homer’s Center for the Arts is in -a beautiful old church right on Main Street. Although its 400-seat Whiting Theater has seen many renowned acts grace the stage, lately the venue has been hitting new heights. With a fall schedule that includes Amy Helm (Sept. 28), Cracker (Oct. 5), the Chris Robinson Brotherhood (Oct. 7), Paula Cole (Oct. 18), John Hiatt (Nov. 4), Tommy Castro and the Painkillers (Nov. 10), Shemekia Copeland (Nov. 16) and the Blind Boys of Alabama (Dec. 1), this small theater has become a hot spot for music lovers. Ty Marshal, who just celebrated his third anniversary as executive director, says his goal for the venue has been a careful work in progress. “The vision was to grow and progress as an orga-

nization, but you have to listen to your supporters,” he says. “I never hold a vision so solid that we can’t change or shift according to need.” Marshal says that with the community’s support, volunteers and the board of directors, it’s been a group effort to elevate the theater. One includes nearly doubling the operating budget from $350,000 to $650,000 in just three years. When Marshal first took the helm, the theater was booking about a dozen concerts each year. That number has since mushroomed from 30 to 50 gigs. Theatrical productions happened maybe once a year, but now there are eight shows. There were 30 dance students when Marshal began, yet now there are more than 100. Marshal is also pushing the theater as a local space available for birthday parties,

yoga classes and more. “I want to inspire the community to take some ownership of this place,” he says, “to feel that it’s theirs. They make it hum. They create the energy. I’m really grateful we’ve gotten so much support.” The change in musical programming has also come from a willingness to take risks on acts. A main stage committee is now in charge of researching artists for possible bookings. “We meet once a month and we just talk about music,” Marshal says. The group then looks at artist tour schedules to see who’s coming close enough to Homer for a visit. That think tank has also helped the center’s music move in new directions. “We hadn’t tried country, but we wanted to,” Marshal recalls. “We saw Marty Stuart was on tour and said, ‘Hey, do you want to pop in here for a stop?’ And it was one

of the fastest selling!” Marshal has been careful to risk more on the financial side, but the experiments have so far paid off. “You hedge your bets,” he says. “I look at the history of the artist in Central New York. I’ll scan the summer festivals. Even if they play a festival, this is a more intimate experience. People saw the Bacon Brothers at Taste of Syracuse a few years ago. It was a fun show. But then to have them here in a 400-seat theater? It’s entirely different.” The theater has also joined forces with other organizations to provide more varied programming. CNY Blues helped score Tommy Castro’s upcoming show, while Dan Smalls Presents (DSP) out of Ithaca has helped Marshal attract bigger acts like Men at Work’s Colin Hay. “He (Colin Hay) was one of our first bigger shows,” Marshal says. “They were giving me the runaround a little bit and said he probably couldn’t do the show. So I called our friends at DSP and they helped us land him. It was an awesome, memorable, sold-out show. We’re grateful for those types of partnerships. It’s part of our success.” In the past, the theater has been labeled a diamond in the rough, a hidden gem. But Marshal doesn’t love those titles. “I hate hiding,” he says. “I’m trying to bring that energy here. It deserves it. It’s a beautiful facility in the middle of a neighborhood. I always tell people before a show to be respectful of that, but they’re the ones who created this place. The church moved out, so what was going to happen to this facility on the corner of historic Main Street? They cared so much about the community, they made it a center for the arts. I have to give credit to the founders for dreaming this up. They’re the people who made this what it is today.” Marshal plans to keep growing the facility with artistic endeavors of all types. “I think people really feel it,” he says. “It’s an indescribable magic that room creates. We also really push hard for positive vibes all around. We want to run, operate and spread positivity, and love for the arts and intellectualism. Positive thinking and universal love, because isn’t that what music, art and theater, at their base and core, are expressing?” SNT

TEEN TAZ NEIDERAUER BRINGS HIS GUITAR TO THE RIDGE At age 15, Brandon “Taz” Neiderauer has already impressed rock royalty. He has played with Gregg Allman, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Stevie Nicks and Lady Gaga, as well as performing in Broadway’s School of Rock: The Musical. On Saturday, Sept. 22, 5 p.m., at The Ridge, 1281 Salt Springs Road, Neiderauer will take part in a benefit concert for Syracuse University’s Gregg Allman-Michael Lehman scholarship. He’ll be performing with his band, including his guitar teacher Mat Godfrey, bassist Matt Fox and drummer Kendall Lentz. Neiderauer will perform a tribute to Jimi Hendrix and will share the stage with local musicians in the Jungle Land Band to celebrate Bruce Springsteen’s birthday. How old were you when you first saw the 2003 movie School of Rock? I was 7 years old. I immediately connected with the character of Zack. I wanted to do what he was doing.

My father saw how much I loved the movie and asked if I wanted to learn. He bought me a guitar and put me in lessons.

You’ve already performed with a long list of amazing artists. Tell me about some of your favorite moments. They are all favorites. Playing with Gregg Allman, Derek Trucks and all the rest is a dream come true. To play with my musical heroes is life-changing.

Who is your favorite musician?

It is impossible for me to answer that. My musical likes cross many genres. I have many favorites including Derek Trucks, Colonel Bruce Hampton, Hendrix. I can go on and on.

What’s your goal as a musician?

My goal is to express myself through my music and bring the joy of that expression to the audience. I would also like to win a Grammy.

Tell me about the Broadway production of School of Rock.

I originated the role of Zack in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock: The Musical. I have also been in three independent films, and I currently play the role of Virgil in Spike Lee’s Netflix series She’s Gotta Have It.

When you visit us, you’ll be doing a tribute to Jimi Hendrix. Tell us how that came about.I have been occasionally doing some special Hendrix sets with my band. The Syracuse gig has a Springsteen tribute set so the promoter asked if we would do Hendrix. I may sneak in one or two of my originals as well.

Music is getting dropped from school programs all the time. Why do you

feel it’s important, as a young person, to be exposed to music and have the opportunity to learn about it and how to play it? That is an important question. Many families have no musical background so school is the only place where a kid can see if they would like to be a musician. Also, musical education teaches a kid discipline, language, communication, expression and listening. These things help everyone in other aspects of their life.

Did you know you’d be a musician or did you have another dream job before this all happened?

I knew I wanted to do this the first time I performed. If it was not this, it would be something to do with mathematics or a player in the NBA.

What advice do you have for people who want to do what you do, especially people your age? You first have to really want it and put in the work to get proficient on your instrument. Then you have to learn by playing the music you love no matter what it is. That keeps a kid engaged.
