Family values

As the parents of three active kids between ages 7 and 11, Andy and Casey Bechtel count themselves lucky to have a world-class hospital so close to home.

All three were born at Newton-Wellesley, and they’ve relied on its caregivers ever since. “You always feel welcome,” says Andy. “The culture of the hospital is amazing, which starts with the people.”

In thinking about charities to get involved with supporting as a family, NWH rose to the top of their list.

Along with their kids, they’ve walked to raise funds for cancer care (including, pictured below, as past participants in Hope Walks). Together with friends and family, they’ve enjoyed the vibrant energy of annual Galas. Andy has stepped up to serve on the Board of Advisors and both the Gala and golf tournament committees.

They see events as great ways to celebrate the hospital and connect more people to the cause.

Beyond what Newton-Wellesley means to their own family, they’re grateful for all that it does for the health and well-being of the community. “We want to give of our time and dollars so it continues to thrive.
