Far from its stereotype of being a tough motorcycle gang, the group will represent the complete opposite as their mission will be to Blue Out Bullying. The initiative, The Ride for Mallory’s Army,
is a charity ride to raise awareness and funds to fight against bullying. Organized to be held almost one year after the death of 12-year old Mallory Rose Grossman of Rockaway, the ride will generate proceeds to support the Mallory’s Army Foundation. The organization was founded by the Grossman family after the sixth grader com-
Supporting the cause is an opportunity too important to pass up. “We always go over and above especially with children and helping out the community,” says Kolano. “We want to teach everyone to be kind. It’s going to be something special to witness something so large riding through. I encourage people to come out and support the riders cause you don’t always see hundreds
of riders passing through every day.” Cost to participate in the ride is $20 for motorcyclists; $15 for passengers. To attend the barbecue following the ride, $10 donations are being requested. Participants can pre-register before June 1 at eventbrite.com, or the morning of the ride at the dealership. M o t o rc y c l i s t s are expected to cruise 30 mph to 40 mph while
spectators line the streets for support. As of press time more than 100 riders throughout the local area had registered for the ride.
