Student Entrepreneurs To Set Up Shop At Hilldale Elementary School

This event is set to be held on Friday, April 27, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 pm at Hilldale Elementa-
ry School, Montville. This can’t miss, Trep$ Marketplace, event is the culmination of the exciting Trep$ program where students show off the remarkable products they created themselves during their six to eight week workshop. Students will professionally display their creations and merchandise, standing behind
tables, interacting with customers, answering questions and making sales. Inspired by their sons forming a business together, the Trep$ program was founded in 2006, by Teachers and Businesspeople, Pamela de Waal and Hayley Romano. The Trep$ Program is a comprehensive project based curriculum designed to empower students in grades four through eight. So why is the program called Trep$? skills as well. Hilldale’s students enthusiastically embraced the workshop eager to show what they could accomplish. Though this wonderful program, students have been diligently coming up with ideas, creatively brainstorming, and learning the details, decisions and realities of entrepreneurship. They collaborated on teams, made presentations, acted professionally, made decisions, took risks
and supported one another. The Trep$ program and Marketplace is a favorite of students and staff alike. “Trep$ is a very popular program, because it’s all about letting the kids show us what they can do, they make the decisions, they do the work,” de Waal explains. “They are so ready to be taken seriously at this age, so a high percentage of the kids participate. Hillsdale has had two
awesome previous marketplaces. The students have been very prepared. They knew their sales pitch and could tell you everything about their products. Last year stands out in my mind because I was blown away!” She continues, “The Hilldale Trep$ Marketplace will be great!
