WELCOME Creative Learning your way to get the most OUT of the New Wolsey Theatre. What is Creative Learning? Creative Learning uses the arts to develop creativity, unlock potential, explore diversity and celebrate identity. Clear? If you’ve taken part, bought or commissioned work, or seen what we do that statement probably makes sense, but if you haven’t it might take some explaining. So here goes… We use the productions, artists, skills and resources of the New Wolsey Theatre to increase your understanding of how theatre works, to develop your own creativity, to broaden your knowledge about a subject or the world around you, or to give you a better understanding about yourself. We even apply the techniques we use in a rehearsal room to give people the opportunity to see what motivates their own behaviour. We deliver a service to schools and colleges, a programme of projects and events for children, young people and the community, and a platform for students, arts educators and teachers to gain new skills and share good practice.

WONDERLAND & SONS
OUR TOWN
Inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
Follow a very modern Alice down a forgotten alleyway, and through the dusty old door of Wonderland and Sons – purveyors of curiosity, amazement and surprises… In this strange world with even stranger characters Alice finds herself growing more and more curious by the minute, but is Alice’s adventure real or is it all just a dream? The New Wolsey Senior Youth Theatre brings their energy and imagination to Lewis Carroll’s classic tale of adventure and discovery. Performances: The New Wolsey Studio, St Georges St Tues 19 to Sat 23 October at 7.45pm Tickets: £7/£5 (concs)

By Thornton Wilder
‘This is the way we were: in our growing up and in our marrying and in our living and in our dying’ Finding the theatre of the 1920s lacking in bite and conviction, Thornton Wilder set out to introduce realism and celebrate simplicity. Our Town stirs the imagination and the senses and leaves you deeply moved. The New Wolsey Young Company is a vibrant group of young adults aged 16-25 who meet regularly to develop their skills and experience as theatre makers. Performances: The New Wolsey Studio, St Georges St Tues 2 to Sat 6 November at 7.45pm Matinée: Sat 6 November at 2.30pm Tickets: £7/£5 (concs)
