It’s one small step for man, and one giant leap for Dad kind. 50 years on from the moon landing children and young people from school and drama groups across Suffolk come together to present the annual Youth Perform! ALL HAIL MACBETH

THE TREE OF DREAMS

P5

‘Hell hath no fury like three women scorned’ It’s 2019, it’s Time’s Up Now! Yet for three young women in the city it still feels like the 1950s. But that’s about to change when Cate walks into their lives and shows them what being a witch should be about. All Hail Macbeth mixes comedy and high drama, with more than a little bit of magic, to tell the backstory of the Three Witches in Shakespeare’s Macbeth.  New Wolsey Studio • 7:45pm

Unscene Suffolk – a theatre company of visually impaired people – presents a new family show inspired by dreams and the natural world, with dynamic audio description (AD) by the internationally renowned Rationale Method. Rationale’s unique approach to AD uses beatboxing sound effects to heighten the experience for both blind and sighted audiences. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see the show at the New Wolsey Studio before its local community tour. DUETS By Peter Quilter

Sat 13 Jul Majestic Voices present

A CHARITY CONCERT IN AID OF MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE ASSOCIATION

A gloriously funny examination of the chaotic world of love, relationships and why the grass is never greener, DUETS is a hilarious tribute to the strength and madness of the human heart. A very funny comedy by the author of Broadway smash End of the Rainbow and the West End hit Glorious! Four sets of characters, four crucial moments. Jonathan and Wendy are on a blind date and hoping to get it right this time even though they’ve never got it right before. Barrie is not really interested in women but Janet sees that as no reason to stop trying. Shelley and Bobby have decided to holiday in Spain to finalise their divorce whilst drowning in cocktails. Angela is marrying for the third time, to the dismay of her brother Toby, amidst a barrage of bad omens and a dress resembling a parachute.

A concert produced by a professional West End performer together with 40 amazing singers. This evening of music will appeal to an audience of all ages with hit songs from films, musicals and pop including The Greatest Showman, Wicked, Miss Saigon, Pitch Perfect 2, George Michael, The Beatles, Glee, Simon & Garfunkel and many more! Majestic Voices originally formed to raise vital funds for charities, with their mission to ‘change lives through song.’ In their most recent concert, they raised £2,500 for local charities.

THE LADY IN THE VAN By Alan Bennett

COURAGE CALLS TO COURAGE

THE SUFFRAGIST MUSICAL

P7 First a book, a play and then a film, The Lady In The Van tells the true story of Alan Bennett’s strained friendship with Miss Mary Shepherd, an eccentric homeless woman whom Bennett befriended in 1974 before allowing her ‘temporarily’ to park her Bedford van in the driveway of his Camden home. ‘One seldom was able to do her a good turn without thoughts of strangulation’. The story is funny, poignant and life affirming and is a remarkable celebration of tolerance and eccentricity.  New Wolsey Theatre • 7:45pm Matinee Sat 27 Jul, 2:30pm Captioned Performance Sat 27 Jul at 2:30pm This amateur production of The Lady In The Van is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French Ltd

Written by Suzanne Hawkes with music by William Stoddart

A drama interspersed with original music and songs of the time about the struggle for the vote between Emmeline Pankhurst’s Suffragettes and Millicent Fawcett’s Suffragists. Two women who were in many ways opposites and yet both working towards the same goal – not just the vote but equality for women. But would their rivalry prove the undoing of their national campaign and put an end to the dreams they both shared but wanted to achieve in very different ways?  New Wolsey Studio • 7:45pm

PETER PAN A MUSICAL ADVENTURE

Book and lyrics by Rachel Bellman Music by Elizabeth Sybil Charlesworth

Julia Mosley has nothing. No home, no family, no future. She is a prisoner in Victorian London. A ‘fallen woman’. But when Charles Dickens and Angela Burdett-Coutts set up a house for fallen women in Shepherd’s Bush, Julia has a chance to turn her life around. Each girl has a year to transform herself into a respectable, skilled woman before being shipped abroad as domestic servants and prospective wives. Which girls will succeed, and which will be thrown back to the streets? This enchanting new musical features irresistible harmonies, exquisite singing and vibrant dance. P.S. This is a true story.  New Wolsey Theatre • 7:45pm Matinee, Sat 3 Aug, 2:30pm

Close your eyes and imagine, close them tight and pretend as you take off on a magical trip to Never Land where you never grow old.
