Julia Antinozzi

THIRD VARIATION

Julia Antinozzi is a choreographer and dance artist. Her work has been presented at Triskelion Arts, Movement Research at the Judson Church, Center for Performance Research, and PAGEANT in NYC, nationally in Seattle (CHOP SHOP: Bodies of Work) and Salt Lake City, and featured in various online publications. Most recently, she received the 2023-2024 Trisk Fellowship from Triskelion Arts, and was selected to be a 2023-2024 New York Live Arts Fresh Tracks Performance & Residency artist. Julia has also held artist residencies at The Floor on Atlantic, New Dance Alliance and Motive Brooklyn. As a performer and collaborator, Julia has worked with Phoebe Berglund, Boy Friday, Juli Brandano, The Creature, Barbie Diewald, Ayano Elson, Amelia Koper Heintzelman, Shayla-Vie Jenkins, Shane Larson, Anna Sperber, and performed in repertory by Merce Cunningham and Bebe Miller.

Julia graduated from Smith College cum laude with a BA in Dance and a minor in Astronomy.

Sienna Blaw (they/them) is a queer dance artist from Austin, TX. Since graduating from SUNY Purchase in 2017 Sienna has performed the works of Pam Tanowitz Dance, Merce Cunningham, Doug Varone, and Hannah Garner’s 2nd Best Dance Company, and they have performed Contact Improvisation scores at MoMa and Park Avenue Armory. Sienna is a co-founder of A-Y/ dancers, and a collaborator with BIRDHOUSE, POGO Dance Projects, and Julia Antinozzi. Sienna is an authorized teacher of Cunningham Technique™️ through the Merce Cunningham Trust. They most recently performed in Punchdrunk’s award-winning immersive theater production of Sleep No More. Paulina Meneses (she/they) is a Filipinx-American dancer, choreographer’s assistant, and

arts administrator hailing from Las Vegas, NV. She graduated magna cum laude from SUNY Purchase with a BFA in Dance and minor in Arts Management. During their time in college, they performed works by Kimberly Bartosik, Shannon Gillen, Xan Burley, Sue Bernhard, Alexandra Beller, and Trisha Brown. Now based in New York City, she has worked with esteemed artists including Doug Varone and Dancers, Dylan Crossman, Hannah Garner’s 2nd Best Dance Company, and Kyle Abraham on his New York City Ballet premiere, “The Runaway.” In addition to Julia Antinozzi, Paulina currently collaborates and dances for MeenMoves, Peter Stathas, Marie Paspe, and Johnnie Cruise Mercer.

Dasol Kim is a dancer and movement director residing in Brooklyn, NY. She was born in Cheonan, South Korea and moved to the United States at age 7. Dasol received a BFA in Dance from NYU Tisch School of the Arts where she performed works by Crystal Pite, Pamela Pietro, Madboots

Dance, and Sonya Tayeh. In addition to Julia Antinozzi, she has performed and collaborated with artists including Chuck Wilt, Akira Uchida, and Teresa toogie Barcelo. Dasol’s most recent works as a performer and movement director were featured in Vogue Portugal and Nowness.

Kelsey Saulnier (she/her) is a Brooklyn based dance artist, choreographer, and movement instructor. She graduated with a BFA in Dance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2018. Throughout her time in the Five College Dance Department, she performed works by Bebe Miller, Bill T. Jones, Pilobolus Dance Theater, Kinsun Chan, Chris Aiken, Leslie Frye-Maietta and more, and was a selected artist for the American College Dance Association National Gala toward the end of her time at UMass Amherst. Since graduating, Kelsey has worked with Boston Moving Arts Productions under the direction of Jenna Pollack, Prometheus Dance, Korhan Basaran, Boston

Dance Theater, BODY | HOUSE, and is currently a performing collaborator with Julia Antinozzi. She is not only a mover, but a maker, and has presented original works at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Arts, 92nd Street Y, Triskelion Arts, Green Space, the Somerville Armory and more.

Sonya Gadet-Molansky is a performer, costume artist, and filmmaker. Their work explores uncovering the surreal in the day to day and remolding past wounds into the fruit of current pleasures. Sonya’s work has been featured at :iidrr Art Gallery, Triskelion Arts, Pageant, BYB studio, Millennium Film Gallery, Boden International Film Festival, and the Redan Gallery in Sweden. They live and work in New York City and have a chihuahua named Mary.

Ryan Wolfe is a songwriter, singer, composer, and instrumentalist from Portland, OR. Since graduating from the University of Michigan he has lived in NYC where he plays for dance for Hofstra University,

Princeton University, The Martha Graham School, Limon Company, and Cunningham Trust, among other places. He has performed and collaborated with choreographers and dance companies such as Jordan Lloyd, Rebecca Lazier, Alice Liddell and Dancers, Grounded View, CNDC/ Angers, The Lovelies, Colin Stilwell, and Chloe London.

Vinson Fraley Alluvium

Vinson Fraley is a New York City based multimedia artist. He was born in Statesville, North Carolina and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He began his formal training in voice and drama at DeKalb School of the Arts. He started dancing at the age of 14 at DanceMakers of Atlanta. Fraley received his BFA in dance from NYU Tisch in 2015. During his final year of college he became a member of Kyle Abraham’s A.I.M (Abraham. In.Motion) and later joined the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company in 2017. Some of Vinson’s collaborators include Carrie Mae Weems, Sterling Ruby, Damien Jalet, Kohei Nawa,

Bobbi Jene Smith, Holland Andrews, Sara Mearns, Terri Lynn Carrington, Boysnoize, Mario Sorrenti, Collier Schorr, Kenyon Victor Adams, Janet Biggs, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The American Modern Opera Company, and Arts at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research), and MIT. He has had the opportunity to present works in the US, Germany, and France. Recently his work has been seen at The Joyce Theater, Lincoln Center, The Water Mill Center, Harlem Stage, and The Peter Brant Foundation. His movement direction has been seen in videos by Calvin Klein, Burberry, Serpentwithfeet, Madonna, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Nike, and Pattern Beauty. Vinson contributed an original music composition for the Bill T. Jones/ Arnie Zane Company’s work titled Afterwardsness. He is signed to DNA Models and United Talent Agency. His work has been written about and featured in various publications including The New York Times, The New Yorker, Interview Magazine, Vanity Fair,System

Magazine, I-d Magazine, Highsnobiety, Document Journal, and Dance Magazine. He was photographed by Inez and Vinoodh for the cover of V Magazine. He has also appeared in worldwide campaigns and commercials for Calvin Klein and Apple.

Liony Garcia Fantasy Punctured

Liony Garcia is a dancer and choreographer based in Miami, FL. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from New World School of the Arts. As a dancer, he has worked with BodyTraffic, brigid baker’s wholeproject, Bistoury Physical Theater and is a founding member of Rosie Herrera Dance Theater.

Garcia’s choreographic works have been commissioned by Miami Light Project, The Ringling Museum, National Performance Network, The Dranoff 2 Piano Foundation, The Aspen Institute, Pioneer Winter Collective and Toronto’s Outreach and Exchange Strategy. Liony is a three-time recipient of the Miami-Dade Dance Miami

Choreographers’ Program and is a resident artist at Miami Light Project and Young Arts. His work, Corporeal Decorum was presented as a solo work in process as part of the Here & Now Festival: 2019. A trio version was presented in collaboration with The Wolfsonian Museum in a program titled Deco through Dance. The piece is a National Performance Network (NPN) Creation & Development Fund Project co-commissioned by Miami Light Project, The Ringling and NPN. It premiered at Miami Theater Center in April of 2022. Since its premiere, the piece has been performed at The Ringling Museum, Miami’s Design Preservation League and adapted to New World Symphony’s Soundscape Park. An excerpt of the piece was presented at Movement Research at The Judson Church.

As a solo performer, Liony has performed at Mana Contemporary, International Noise Music Conference, Bas Fisher Invitational and Edge Zone’s INDEX’21. He’s worked with director Celia Rowlson-Hall

on her short film Swamp Lake and performed with filmmaker Claudio Marco Tulli on his film installation, Blasting Pixels, and was a guest performer in Ana Teresa Fernandez’s, On the Horizon land art installation. Most recently, he presented an improvised solo titled Up in the Clouds commissioned by Bistoury for 305 HAV

INTERNATIONAL IMPROV FEST ’21’. The short film D3C05, a collaboration with Blaze Gonzalez and digital artist Hannah Gaengler was shown at ScreenDance Miami and Miami International Film Festival 2022.

Symara Sarai Batty Juice

Symara Sarai is a Portland, Oregon born Trinidadian currently residing in Brooklyn. Their choreographic practice navigates the complexities of their personal and cultural histories through movement, sound, and research. At present, they are particularly interested in combining the methodologies of folk, improvisation, and modern dance to explore their African American and

West Indian heritage. These practices are merged with rigorous archival and embodied research. A 2023 Bessie Winner for Breakout Choreographer, Symara is also a recipient of the Dai Ailian Foundation Scholarship based in Trinidad and Tobago. The scholarship led her to Beijing, China where she spent two years gaining an associate degree in modern choreography at the renowned Beijing Dance Academy. Symara is a graduate of SUNY Purchase’s Conservatory of Dance Program. She was a resident artist for Bearnstow, Gibney 6.2 Work Up, Gallim’s 2022 Moving Artist’s Residency, BAX’s Fall 2022 Space Grant Program, and Center for Performance Research’s 2022 AIR Program. She is a 2023/2024 NYLA Fresh Tracks artist and a 2023 Women in Motion Commissioned Artist. Their work as a performer and maker has been reviewed and featured in the NY Times, Dance Enthusiast, Fjord, as well as promoted through Forbes. She has had multiple film works commissioned by

Berlin-based choreographer Christoph Winkler. They have presented work at the WIP Showing at Bates Dance Festival, The Clarice at UMD, The LGBT Center, Judson Church, BAAD, WiM Salon, Chez Bushwhick, The Beijing Dance Academy Theatre, and other venues throughout the United States, China, and Germany. She is currently an Urban Bush Women company member. She has also notably worked with Jawole-Willa Jo Zollar, Joanna Kotze, Jasmine Hearn, Raymond Pinto, Ogemdi Ude, Ley Gambucci, Pioneers Go East Collective, Rena Butler, Kevin Wynn, Nattie Trogdon+Hollis Bartlett, Alexandra Beller, and Slowdanger, among others. Mikaila Ware (Performer/ choreographic collaborator):

Mikaila Ware (she/her) began taking dance classes at a recreational center on the military base of Fort Stewart, Georgia when she was five. Upon her parents’ military retirement, Mikaila’s family settled in Ellenwood, Georgia,

where she furthered her training at Price Performing Arts Center and Dekalb School of the Arts. Mikaila expanded her range at intensives such as Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, and Henny Jurriëns Studio. Mikaila graduated from Florida State University, where she obtained her B.F.A in Dance. As a NY-based movement artist, teacher, and facilitator, Mikaila has worked in the mediums of dance and film through collaboration with choreographers and directors such as Kayla Farrish (Decent Structures Arts), André Zachery (Renegade Performance Group), Johnnie Cruise Mercer (TheREDprojectNYC), and Max Rothman (Monticello Park Productions) with Dubois A’keen. Mikaila was an adjunct faculty member at SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance Program (Fall ‘20). Presentations of her work include Dixon Place, Purchase, STooPs, and as part of AUNTS Goes Public performance series. Featured performances of Mikaila’s appear in articles such as the

NY Times, Dance Magazine, Dance Enthusiast, and Danspace Project. Additionally, Mikaila worked administratively and creatively through completing the Accessibility Partnerships and Programs Fellowship at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Furthermore, Mikaila is an alumna of the Diversity in Arts Leadership program with the Arts and Business Council of New York. She is currently a company member with Urban Bush Women.

Kentoria Earle (Performer/ Choreographic Collaborator): Kentoria Earle was raised in Winter Haven, Florida and is the proud daughter of Kent Earle and Victoria Wilson. She recently graduated from Florida State University where she obtained her Master of Arts in Dance/ Studio Related Studies. Since graduating she has had the opportunity to work with choreographers/ companies such as Renegade Performance Group, Abigail Levine, and Urban Bush Women as a 2022 New York Community Trust Van

Lier Fellow and now company member. Kentoria is a Brooklyn based performing artist and collaborator who works to build an artistic process that looks at solo/improvisational practices as a way to tap into ancestry and lineage based movement exploration. She believes these practices support and open up spaces where artists can be fully present for what often results in holistic & sustainable approaches to our healing, individually and collectively.

CHIMI (Sound Design) is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, composer, and multimedia artist. As a Nigerian native living in the United States, she channels her tribal and African roots to conjure up divinity and truthful expression. Her artistic practice transcends cultural boundaries and expectations. CHIMI uses music, provocative lyrics, movement, and evangelical stylings to share her plight with ego and its’ forever evolving parallels and juxtapositions with healing. With songs featured in Cleveland Magazine’s ‘2023 Cleveland Current’

playlist, as well as SPACES Gallery exhibition ‘A Botanical Conversation’ by Mhedi-Georges Lahlou, and collaborations with the likes of Dr Roy(NG), Mourning [A] BLKstar (USA), Lonnie Holley(USA), BVT (AUS), Ewuresi Archer (GH), CHIMI is taking strides to paint a peculiar and captivating picture of the multiplicity of her identity. Since February 2023 she has been touring through Europe, North America, Australia, and writing music as part of internationally acclaimed band Mourning [A] BLKstar. With her sound design and composing debut feature in Symara Sarai’s, ‘Batty Juice’, she shares a glimpse into the reaches of her bags of whimsical inspiration and thunderous existence. In addition to her practice, CHIMI founded Manic Pros ltd in 2022 to directly impact a budding Cleveland art industry in efforts to liberate the potential of creative multiplicity without niching. Through art, activism, event planning, arts administration and programming, she brings artists closer to their communities and highlights the collective power

in striving to create the world we want to see together. Building community and partnerships with organizations like Slavic Village Development and the Cleveland Public Library she is dedicated to breaking barriers of access to the arts.

Xinan Helen Ran (Set Design): Xinan Helen Ran (b. 1994. Inner Mongolia, China) is an artist who specializes in fabric, language, and found objects to construct emotional landscapes. She searches for the point where trauma, nihilism, and humor converge. She received her MFA from Hunter College (2022), and BFA from Pratt Institute (2017).

Ranked “Highbrow and Brilliant” by the New York Magazine Matrix, Xinan is a 2024 More Art Commission Artist, a 2024 New York State Council on the Arts grant recipient, was a mentee in New York Foundation for the Arts’s Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program (2023), a Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Arts Center resident (2022), and an Ox-Bow Summer Fellow (2016). Apart from her studio practice, Xinan is an art educator, an art administrator and an aspirational set designer for new theaters. xinanran.work

nia love (Artistic Advisor) is a former Fulbright Fellow for her research in Ghana & Mali, a two- time recipient of the Urban Bush Women Choreographic Initiative and CCI 2.0 Fellow, and an Embodying Anti-Racism Fellow at Wesleyan University. She received a Bessie Award for her performance with Skeleton Architecture, a Bessie Award for music composition for g1(host):lostatsea, and the Alvin Ailey New Directions Lab Choreographer Award. A recipient of Dance Theater Workshop’s Suitcase Fund for her work in Tanzania, the MAP Fund, the Herb Alpert Award, the Foundation for Contemporary Arts Award, and NEFA’s National Dance Project Production Grant for UNDERcurrents. Her work has been supported by Brooklyn Arts Exchange/BAX’s Artist-inResidence program, Bryn Mawr’s Centering Critical Blackness Residency, Dancing While Black Residency, Gibney’s Dancein-Process Residency, Lower

Manhattan Cultural Council Workspace Residency, Maggie Allesee National Choreographic Center (MANCC) Residency, The Mellon Foundation, Movement Research Rosin Fund Residency, The Petronio Residency Center, and The Surdna Foundation. Her current project, UNDERcurrents, has been commissioned by the Harlem Stage|Water Works Established Artist Program, LMCC WorkSpace, and Harlem Grown’s Cultural, Creativity & Care Initiative at Marcus Garvey. love has taught across the United States including the American Dance Festival (ADF), Bates Dance Festival, Jacob’s Pillow, Hollins University, Texas Woman’s University, UCLA World Arts and Cultures/ Dance, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is currently an adjunct professor at Queens College and the New School, and City College. love is the artistic advisor to New York Live Arts’ Fresh Tracks program and BAX’s Artist-in-Residence program.
