This publication was created by the NYMC Office of Public Relations with its annual compilation of highlights and top communications accomplishments, January - December 2024.

The Office of Public Relations of New York Medical College (NYMC) is dedicated to supporting the College’s mission, strategic plan, and a variety of institutional initiatives through the use of effective and accurate communications tools. The Office is responsible for all aspects of internal and external communications of NYMC, including media relations, official College social media accounts, branding, internal communications, publications, and the nymc.edu website. The Office of Public Relations develops and maintains open, transparent channels of communication with all College stakeholders and leverages College experts to share the NYMC story with the world.

NYMC faculty experts reached millions of readers, viewers, and listeners in the media in 2024. They shared their knowledge and expertise, as well as their own opinion pieces in national, regional, local, and international print and broadcast media. Asthma, stress, tick borne illnesses, the use of AI in health care, and a multitude of additional topics were among the most viewed articles. Outlets covering NYMC included The New York Times, Forbes, U.S. News & World Report, Crain’s, all three major news networks, as well as Jewish and health press.

The newly redesigned NYMC.edu website went live September 2024. The updated design brings a fresh, modern look and enhanced functionality to our online presence. The development of this new site has been a monumental collaborative effort, spearheaded by the Office of Public Relations and the Touro University Department of Online Services, with the dedicated input from administration, faculty, students, and staff across all of our schools, the new website creates a digital experience that truly reflects the spirit and excellence of NYMC.

The Dean’s Newsletters are crafted quarterly by the deans of each of the three schools: SOM, SHSP, and GSBMS. Each newsletter includes a message from the respective dean, along with the most recent school-specific updates, profiles, events, accomplishments, and other relevant content tailored to the interests of their students and faculty. SOM produces two newsletters: one providing general updates and the other focusing on research.
