Overview
NEXTDistro/nextdistroorgworkstoprovideonlineandmail-basedharmreductionresourcestopeople whocannotaccessin-personsyringeexchangeprogramservices NEXTmailsnaloxone,syringes, fentanylteststrips,safersmokingsupplies,safersexsupplies,andotherharmreductionmaterialsto programparticipants.
TheNaloxoneProgramAssociatewillberesponsiblefortheinventory,preparation,packaging,and shipmentsspecifictoNEXT’snaloxonebymailprogram.Thispositionrequiresgoodhandwriting, proficiencyinreadingandwritingEnglishandSpanish,andtheabilitytomanageincomingordersusinga GoogleSheetsspreadsheetwithmultipleinterconnectedfunctions(multipletabs,comment/notefunction, etc.),toaccuratelyrecordoutgoingsuppliesandshipmentsandtocollaboratewithremotestaffmembers tosolveproblems.Anidealcandidatewillbepersonableandfriendly,enjoyorganization,taking ownershipoftasks,andinterestedinwelcomingandsupportingvolunteers.Thejobrequiresanindividual whoisabletoliftheavypackages(max30lbs)andbringpackagestothepostoffice(2blocksaway)on footusingacart
EssentialFunctions
● Managesupplyorderrequeststhroughanonlinespreadsheetbasedsystem Thiswillinclude criticalthinking/problemsolvingandexperienceusingspreadsheets
● Prepareandpackshipmentsmadetoorderincludingwritingpersonalizedmessages,occasionally inSpanish Thiswillrequirelegiblehandwriting,adequatespellingandgrammar,andan empathicreadinglens.
● Maintainaccuraterecord-keepingrelatedtosuppliesmailedusinganxlsspreadsheet.
● Supportthebulkpreparationandinventoryofharmreductionsupplies.Thisincludes,packaging supplies,assemblingoverdoserescuekits,andstapling/foldingeducationalmaterials.
● ManageallnaloxoneinventoryinourNYCoffice,thisincludesforecasting,ordering,and unpackingsupplyshipments.
● Aspartofanationalteam,participateinorganizationalprocessimprovement includingmeetings, workgroups,andbrainstormingsessions.
● Abilitytoregularlyandrepeatedlyliftupto30lbs,sitandstand,bendandreach,repeatfineandgross motorfunctions
● Abilitytoadapttochangingprogramneedsandquickly,efficiently,andindependentlyprioritize and completetaskstoresultinimpactfulprogramoutput
● Overseevolunteersinthephysicalspace,includingensuringadequatematerialsareavailableand volunteersareaccomplishingtasksresponsivetoinventoryandsupplyneeds
● Ensureacleanandorderlyphysicalofficespace Thiswillrequirebreakingdownboxes, organizingandputtingawaymaterials,andproblem-solvingorganizationandstorageissues
Requirements/Skills
● English/Spanishlanguageproficiencyisrequired,thispositionwillberequiredtoreadandwrite inbothEnglishandSpanish;musthavelegiblehandwriting
● Commitmenttosupportingpeoplewhousedrugsthroughharmreductionstrategies,experience inharmreductionaplus
● Abilitytoworkaspartofateam,thispositionwillworkcloselywithbothin-personandremote colleagues
● Reliableandtrustworthy,abilitytoeffectivelycommunicateverballyandthroughphone/email
● Abletouseemailandonlinesearchenginestoaccessinformationandproblemsolve,orknow whentoaskforguidance;abilitytouseaspreadsheet-basedorderingsystem.Wewillprovide trainingfortherightcandidate.
● Regularlystandandwalk,mustbeabletocomfortablyliftupto30lbsregularlythroughout shifts,completerepetitivemovements.
