NEXT Harm Reduction, Program Associate Position

NEXT Harm Reduction Program Associate Hourly non-employee position, based in New York City $20 per hour/ 8 hours per week Overview NEXT Harm Reduction works to provide online and mail-based harm reduction resources. Our platform nextdistro.org is the first online and mail-based syringe access program in the country. Our platform naloxoneforall.org is designed to support individuals who need overdose response training and naloxone, but are unable to access in-person services. This position will be responsible for packaging, mailing, record keeping, and inventory management of supply shipments. It is preferred that the Program Associate break their week out into 2 4-hour shifts, this is negotiable.

Essential Functions ● Manage supply requests through an online spreadsheet based system ● Pack and address shipments including writing personalized messages ● Provide written referrals to in-person support based on enrollee location and request(s) ● Maintain accurate record-keeping and inventory systems related to supplies mailed ● Bring packages to the post office which is within walkable distance of main office Requirements ● Commitment to supporting people who use drugs through harm reduction strategies ● Reliable and trustworthy, ability to effectively communicate verbally and through phone/email ● Able to use email, online search engines; ability to organization information using spreadsheets, will provide training for the right candidate ● Meticulous transcription and close attention to detail, must be able to transcribe names and addresses from online spreadsheet to mailers; Legible print handwriting ● Ability to problem solve and know when to ask for support and guidance ● Physically able to transport large amounts of supplies to post office (with use of cart) ● Bilingual (written) in English and Spanish preferred The right candidate will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hectic environment, and enjoys maintaining (and creating) organization systems to facilitate smooth operational functions.
