Students registered in a summer diploma exam credit course through Next Step Continuing Education will write a diploma exam in August at Salisbury Composite High School. If this is not your first time writing a diploma exam for a particular diploma exam credit course, you are required to submit a Diploma Exam Rewrite form together with a $25 + GST rewrite fee directly to Alberta Education.

SUMMER SCHOOL 5

Summer School is an opportunity for students to free up room in their timetables for other courses or to upgrade marks for post-secondary. Our high school credit courses are open to both high school and mature students. Students entering Grade 10 in September 2016 are eligible to enroll in the summer offering of Physical Education (PE10), Career and Life Management (CALM) and Extreme credit courses only. All students, including those from other school jurisdictions, are welcome to register for summer school.

This program provides activities that will enhance curriculum objectives for PE 10, CALM and CTS credits utilizing outdoor education as the medium for learning. Staying 4 nights at Strathcona Wilderness Centre the second week, students will participate in wilderness living skills, canoeing, orienteering, outdoor fitness activities and a variety of team building and leadership development activities. Don't miss out on this one of a kind hands-on learning experience.

Extreme FILM Studies This modern course is designed around taking a comprehensive look into how the medium of film has the ability to capture peoples' imaginations and can shape the consciousness of people in the world. You will have the opportunity to analyze great films then create a short film using your newfound knowledge. Earn up to 4 high school credits working on your own projects.

EXTREME Graphic Design & Photography

Extreme AUDIO/MUSIC Technology Whether you are into rap, dj’ing, classical music – or any kind of recorded performance in between – this audio-music production course is for you! Start out learning how to transcribe music and beats. Then dive into audio editing in your area of interest whether it’s podcasts, digital music or recording live music. For live music you are welcome to bring your instrument after the first class. Pre and post production will also be explored. No previous musical background is required. Earn up to 4 high school credits working on your own projects.

Are you interested in exploring photography and graphic design? Start by learning basic concepts to capture the best image with a digital camera. You will also discover how to get creative with your images in Photoshop. Next you will move on to exploring the fundamentals of graphic design and producing your own products such as cell phone cases, posters and clothing. If you are interested in unleashing your creativity this summer while earning credits towards your high school diploma this is the course for you! Earn up to 4 high school credits working on your own projects.

Do you love making things? Have fun messing about with wood and invite your grandpa or other special adult in your life to join you! Explore many aspects of woodworking together while making a project designed especially for this camp by The Home Depot of Sherwood Park. Tools and materials are supplied. This course is offered in partnership with The Home Depot, Sherwood Park.

Have some fun with your grandpa or other special adult in your life creating a wonderful memory tree. You will unleash your creative sides using many art techniques together and finish with a masterpiece you both will cherish. We recommend wearing suitable clothing as paint and other mediums will be used.

EXTREME Babysitting Looking to get your Red Cross Babysitter Certificate? Check out this fun and expanded version of the usual babysitting course. You won't find another babysitting camp like this! The first two days will cover the Red Cross Babysitter Certificate program in the morning. The afternoons will be filled with fun as you explore different games and projects you can use when babysitting. On the third day you will gain hands-on experience in the kitchen, learning basic skills while making tasty, easy meals you can prepare for your babysitting clients!

Make Your First 3D Minecraft Modders

Camp was very fun and I would like to do it again next year!

Make your LEGOs come to life! Bring in your favourite action figures or LEGOs and create a short film with your friends. Whether you want to recreate a scene from Star Wars or design a world of your own, this camp brings your dreams to the screen. Students will work with others of similar age in pairs or teams for part of the program.

Use your favourite game to discover the basics of modding and foundations of programming. Learn scripting and logic statements as you create your first mod! Learn the physics behind 3D games, explore beginner event scripting, level design, controlling flow of game play and story telling. APP Attack! Take the first step into the world of mobile app design and customize your own game app! For over 30 years Sherwood Park Volleyball Camp has been helping athletes prepare for the start of their upcoming school volleyball seasons. Volleyball Are you looking for an introduction to the game of volleyball? Basic skills such as serving (underhand and overhand), forearm passing and overhead passing (setting) will be emphasized in this co-ed camp. An introduction to court positioning, backcourt defense, blocking and attack skills plus offensive and defensive team strategies will also be covered.

Bring your game up to par! Discover the fundamentals of golf such as rules and etiquette and how to improve your basic swing technique. You will also gain an introduction to short game shots.

Bring a lunch/snack for weekend classes 1/2 hour break is provided.
