WELCOME TO YANKTON, SOUTH DAKOTA! Partner — Yankton SD
Welcome to the 2015 World Archery Youth Championship! I would like to personally extend a warm welcome on behalf of Yankton, South Dakota, USA. We expect your experiences in Yankton and at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center will be first-class. A special Thank You to all the World Archery Team; especially Dr. Ugur Erdner, Tom Dielen, Chris Marsh, Juan Carlos Holgado and Chris Wells. It has also been an extreme pleasure to work with USA Archery and Denise Parker on this event. I am proud to have you at our Center and hope that you partake in the variety of opportunities at the Center and in the community. Through the foresight and vision of Jim and Greg Easton and the Easton Sports Foundation, we have been able to develop the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center into a facility that is one of the best in the world. We understand the dedication and hard work it has taken for you to qualify and compete in a tournament of this magnitude and we are excited to provide you high-quality facilities that will accentuate this unique, lifetime experience. Lastly, I would like to say a very special thank you to all of the event sponsors and vendors for their support of this tournament and the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center. We encourage you to visit their vendor booths at the Center and enjoy the community’s restaurants, shops, and accouterments. In South Dakota, the outdoors are not only a place to spend quality time with friends and family, but a lifestyle that includes hunting, fishing, walking, boating, biking, hiking, and of course, shooting archery. The local committee has been working diligently to offer all archers, coaches and spectators the full South Dakota experience and to make this 2015 World Archery Youth Championship the best of its kind. As you continue in archery, we invite you back to Yankton to train in our facility or hopefully participate in another World Tournament. Thank you again for attending and I hope you enjoy your stay in Yankton! Sincerely,
Bruce Cull Local Organizing Committee Chairman and NFAA President

Dear Athletes and Officials, It is our pleasure to be in the United States for the 3rd time with the Youth Championships. However, it is for the first time in South Dakota and the beautiful NFAA Archery centre in Yankton. We thank all the partners of this event and in particular Bruce Cull who is always enthusiastic of doing new things in our sport. We also thank the Easton Foundations for having created this beautiful Archery facility. We also thank the local community, the local officials, as well as the State of South Dakota for their contribution of making this a very special event. We wish all participants the best of luck and a great event. I look forward seeing all of you on the final day of the competition. Dakota Archery has been one of the foremost hunting and fishing supply stores in the area for decades. They have the area’s largest selection of everything that a hunter would ever need, from game calls to bows to camo tree stands, rifles, shotguns from major manufacturers, plus so much more. Co-owners, Bruce Cull and Scott Aase are very avid sportsman, and travel throughout the world hunting. Cull says, “Yankton’s status in the archery world began to grow in 2007, when we helped spearhead a state economic development package to encourage the NFAA (National Field Archery Association)to move its headquarters to Yankton from California.” In 2008, Cull partnered with the Easton Foundations and the NFAA Foundation to build their first archery complex in conjunction with the NFAA National Headquarters. The Easton Foundations were created by Jim Easton, CEO of Jas. D. Easton, Inc. The Easton Foundations support the building and operation of outdoor and indoor archery facilities throughout the U.S. In addition to these facilities, the Foundations provide programs to train aspiring archers, trainers, coaches and administrators. Bruce worked with the city of Yankton, county and state to build this new facility. The Foundation provided the funding for the building, which broke ground in 2008 and opened its doors in 2009. The NFAA Foundation is a 501(c)3 non- profit company founded by the NFAA with the goal of expanding and promoting the sport of archery through archery programs and a scholarship and museum fund. The NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Complex boasts a first-of-its-kind indoor archery range. What makes it unique? The length – archers can shoot a full 90 meters indoors. The range is in a climate-controlled environment for year round shooting. With movable targets, the range can be set up for shooting at any distance, and can accommodate over 100 shooting lanes for 18-meter (20 yard) tournaments. “It is becoming an international facility and it all comes down to helping grow archery as a sport in the United States,” claims Cull. “We get the opportunity to train athletes and archers, year- round,” he said. “Because of the weather in the Midwest, it’s hard to train for long distances in the winter. Our facility gives archers and bowhunters a place to practice or sight-in regardless of the weather.” Archery is the fastest growing shooting sport and hunting sport in South Dakota and Cull has been a long-time fixture on the archery scene in southeast South Dakota. Now, through hosting National and International competitions, the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Complex has made the town of Yankton a Worldwide name in the sport of archery.
“Back in 2005, when we had the tournament here, I don’t think people in our organization (NFAA) realized exactly what South Dakota was,” he said. “When they got here, they were awe-struck. They saw the beautiful lake, the river, and the rolling hills. I don’t think there could be a more natural fit for the NFAA (than South Dakota),” said Cull. Cull says his long-term involvement comes from his love of the sport. “I just want to give back to the sport I’ve enjoyed.” The NFAA Easton Complex is more than just an indoor range. The 100-acre property is also home to 6 outdoor archery ranges, including 3 NFAA-certified field courses, a 3D animal course and 2 Olympic style fields. “Anyone can come in and shoot for less than $10/day. This gives you access to all 7 of our courses, including the use of our indoor archery equipment,” according to Brittany Salonen, Marketing Manager for the facility. “We also offer one-on-one lessons or group parties for all skill levels. Grab some friends and make a day of it!” The NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Complex is no stranger to some of the World’s best archers. This summer, the Complex hosted the NFAA Outdoor National Field Championships and the IFAA World Field Archery Championships. Archers from across the U.S. and from around the World gathered to compete for the National and World titles. The next big event for the Complex will be in June of 2015 when they host the Youth World Archery Championships. The Complex beat out cities like Mexico City for the tournament bid. The competition will host over 600 youth archers from over 60 different countries. The biennial World Youth Championships, which will be held on the Complex’s two outdoor Olympic ranges and is one of the sport’s top drawing tournaments. The tournament was last held in the U.S. in 2009 at Ogden, Utah, and Legnica, Poland, and Wuxi, China, have since served as hosts. August 3, 2014 marked the opening of the new National Field Archery Association (NFAA) Foundation Museum at the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Center. The NFAA Museum showcases historical bows, archery equipment and archery related artifacts collected throughout the NFAA’s 75-year history. Over 200 historical bows, patches, pins, awards, photos, historical documents and early issues of Archery magazine fill the museum cases making it a must-see for all NFAA members and archery enthusiasts. The museum and facility are open to the public weekdays 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
