Dear Wrangler NFR Fans, Las Vegas Events and the PRCA would like to welcome you to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and personally thank you for your continued support and dedication to the world’s richest and most prestigious rodeo.

In 2016, the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo hit a tremendous milestone – 300 consecutive sold-out performances at the Thomas & Mack Center. While this is certainly a significant accomplishment and a testament to the loyalty of rodeo fans, all of us at Las Vegas Events will not take anything for granted.

For rodeo fans, contestants and those within the industry, the NFR truly becomes “The Best Ten Days of the Year.” Each year we strive to provide you with the ultimate NFR Experience during your stay in Las Vegas. This year is no different.

In this guide, you will find comprehensive schedules for Wrangler NFR 9-5, Wrangler NFR After Dark and Entertainment Around Town. You will also find maps of the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown to assist you in getting around and discovering what has become known as the NFR Experience.

When you attend the Wrangler NFR at the Thomas & Mack Center, we invite you to check out The ‘Shoe, a fully-themed Western hospitality and interactive experience that also features a Stripview and an entry from the northwest end of the arena.

We also invite you to explore Cowboy Christmas, located inside the South Halls at the Las Vegas Convention Center. In addition to the ultimate shopping experience, the area also includes live entertainment, autograph sessions, a rodeo arena, saloon, interactive booths, rodeo exhibits, the NFR Social Lounge and more. At Cowboy Christmas, It’s All Here!

In addition, the Junior NFR presented by YETI will be held inside the Wrangler Rodeo Arena at Cowboy Christmas and will run for ten consecutive days. Youth contestants will compete for titles in junior bull riding, team roping, tie-down roping, junior steer wrestling, barrel racing, breakaway, mini saddle bronc riding and mini bareback riding.

While the greatest rodeo competitors in the world chase the coveted gold buckle, we invite you to share in the Western heritage and experience everything that Las Vegas and the Wrangler NFR have to offer.

WRANGLER NFR

Since 1985, the world’s best rodeo contestants have traveled to Las Vegas to compete for fame, riches and gold buckles. For 10 days, the Wrangler NFR takes over the “Entertainment Capital of the World” as the city welcomes the contestants, their families, friends and fans to Las Vegas. The Thomas & Mack Center lights up each night as more than 17,000 enthusiastic rodeo fans cheer on their idols in the richest and most prestigious rodeo in the world.

Held in December each year, the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo is a legendary rodeo experience that grows with each passing year. This Dec. 7-16, the most elite athletes in rodeo will be on display on the sport’s biggest stage. Who will earn the coveted Gold Buckle this year?

The rodeo might only take place at night, but there are plenty of things for rodeo fans to do in Las Vegas during the day. Dozens of rodeo-related events are held throughout the city daily, including Cowboy Christmas at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Cowboy Marketplace Gift Show at Mandalay Bay and the wildly popular “Outside the Barrel” show hosted by Flint Rasmussen at Rodeo Live presented by RODEOHOUSTON®.

Other events include the Miss Rodeo America Pageant competitions at the MGM Grand, autograph sessions with the 2017 Wrangler NFR contestants, the 31st Annual Spurs and Spikes Golf Tournament to benefit the ProRodeo Hall of Fame on December 15, Benny Binion’s World Famous Wrangler NFR Bucking Horse & Bull Sale at the South Point Arena and Equestrian Center Dec. 7 and the Bob Tallman Wrangler NFR Charity Bowling Tournament at the Gold Coast on Dec. 10.

Additional events of interest include the RMEF Hunter and Outdoor Christmas Expo that runs all ten days this year at the Las Vegas Convention Center and the World of Rodeo Reunion at The Orleans on Dec. 7-8.

For the third consecutive year, the RMEF’s Hunter & Outdoor Christmas Expo will take over the second floor of the South Hall throughout the duration of Cowboy Christmas. Stop in for a drink at the Saloon, located on the east end of Cowboy Christmas in the Las Vegas Convention Center, South Halls. The Saloon will also feature video screens with a replay of the prior night’s Wrangler NFR performance.

WRANGLER RODEO ARENA and JUNIOR NFR presented by YETI

The arena is located on the second floor of the South Hall, right in the middle of the RMEF Hunter & Outdoor Christmas Expo. For the second consecutive year, the Junior NFR presented by YETI will be held in Las Vegas. There will be qualifiers and finals in eight events, with various age groups per event.

Fans can also catch the Flag Girl Competition and Exceptional Rodeo presented

by NV Energy.

THE GREAT WALL OF RODEO presented by CALGARY STAMPEDE

This fun and interactive wall features displays like Where Do You Rodeo?, a graphic of all 120 Wrangler NFR contestants, Stock of the Year recognition, NFR timelines and other elements.

So much rodeo action to see in one place! In addition to the Junior NFR presented by YETI, the Wrangler Rodeo Arena will host the Flag Girl Competition and the annual Exceptional Rodeo presented by NV Energy.

For the second consecutive year, the Junior NFR presented by YETI will be held in Las Vegas. There will be qualifiers and finals in eight events (with various age groups per event): bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, breakaway, team roping, tie-down roping and barrel racing.

General admission to the qualifiers is free, while the rough stock finals on December 11 and timed-event finals on December 16 will be $10 for general admission. Limited access to the Priefert Platform will be available for $20 per day.

RFD-TV’s Western Sports Roundup In 2017, the RFD-TV Western Sports Roundup will take place on the Rodeo Live Stage presented by RODEOHOUSTON® inside Cowboy Christmas. Western Sports Roundup will be taped live every morning from 10 am - 11:45 am. The show, hosted by RFD-TV’s Steve Kenyon, will feature different stars of the Wrangler NFR throughout the ten days, as well as provide a full recap of the NFR’s nightly performances and rodeo action.
