Our lives are surrounded by numbers. Each day, each hour, great amounts of data are produced for scientific, recreational or archival purposes. We produce data to understand or change the things around us. In a globalized and highly connected world, data visualization plays a substantial role to help us learn form this numbers, transforming the abstract values in familiar forms.
But, even the best visualizations need explanations: What is this graphic about? What means those shapes? And the colors?. Aedo symbolizes the effort to develop a system that produce self-explained graphics, which focuses not in the representation/translation of the numbers but in their meaning. Via random selections of datasets, the application can build tales based on the chosen data, uncovering in a visual and narrative way the stories behind the numbers, and giving a solid context to understand their meaning.
