About Hanoi Ha Noi is the oldest capital city in Southeast Asia, located in the Red River Delta in the center of Northern Vietnam. Up to now, Ha Noi has been one of the few cities in Asia left entirely of the westernstyle boxy business architecture. With a history of more than 1000 years, Ha Noi has a lot of interesting things to see. Many ancient architectural features are still preserved, particularly in the fascinating warren of streets known as the Old Quarter. Lakes, parks, shady boulevards and more than 600 temples and pagodas add to the appeal of this city. Stroll or ride by cyclo through the lively “Old Quarter” and shop for silk, lacquer and ceramics, enjoy famed water puppet theatre… are great ways to discover its charm. In the soul of any Vietnamese citizen, Ha Noi has always been a symbol of culture and a source of pride throughout history.

Imperial Citadel of Thang Long The royal enclosure was first built during the Ly dynasty (1010) and subsequently expanded by the Tran, Le and finally the Nguyen dynasty. It remained the seat of the Vietnamese court until 1810, when the Nguyen dynasty chose to move the capital to Hue. The ruins roughly coincide with the Hanoi Citadel today. The royal palaces and most of the structures in Thăng Long were in varying states of disrepair by the late 19th century with the upheaval of the French conquest of Hanoi. By the 20th century many of the remaining structures were torn down. Only in the 21st century are the ruin foundations of Thăng Long Imperial City systematically excavated. 18 Hoang Dieu st., Ba Dinh dist., Ha Noi +84 4 3734 5427 8:00am- 7:00pm http://www.hoangthanhthanglong.vn

ietnamese iced coffee, also known as cà phê đá or cafe da (Vietnamese: cà phê đá, literally “ice coffee”) is a traditional Vietnamese coffee recipe. At its simplest, cà phê đá is made using medium to coarse ground dark roast Vietnamese-
grown coffee with a small metal Vietnamese drip filter (phin cà phê). After the hot water is added, the drip filter releases drops of hot coffee slowly into a cup. This finished cup of hot coffee is then quickly poured into a glass full of ice making the finished Vietnamese iced coffee.
