U18 Hockey Team at National Schools Finals

The U18 team travelled to Nottingham on Sunday 6th February in the school minibus After stopping halfway to refuel on MacDonalds and Starbucks, we safely arrived at Nottingham Hockey Centre for the practice session

It was a great way to get a feel for the various pitches and get used to the layout Everyone enjoyed being able to stretch their legs after a long journey

After settling into the Travelodge, Mr Henderson drove the team to Frank & Benny's for a team dinner and strategy session Although the music was a little loud that didn't stop Mr Henderson from getting the team talk done!

An early start to the morning of the tournament, and with some concern over the frozen pitches, it wasn't the start we thought it would be! But after delaying the first round of matches by 30 minutes, the day was underway The team played fantastically throughout the day, with the support of NHEHS parents and alumna from the sidelines

Unfortunately the third/fourth playoffs did not go according to plan with a short corner awarded against the team when the final whistle had gone Despite this, the team showed grit, determination and sportsmanship throughout
