WAYS TO HELP SMALL BUSINESSES

In honor of Small Business Saturday and the upcoming holiday season, here are ten ways to support our Avenues’ small businesses!

1. Shop small, stay local! Try to keep your spending in our community. 2. Give gift certificates to Avenues businesses – they are always the right size! 3. Order some meals to go or for delivery if you can’t make it to your favorite restaurants. Business lunches are a great time to order local food! 4. Talk about your favorite Avenues businesses on social media – like, comment, and share their posts. 5. Write a great online review when you get great service and great products from a local business! 6. Keep your appointments – reschedule, don’t cancel.

Businesses depend on keeping their calendars full. 7. Offer to pay a deposit or prepay for work you’re having done. Cash flow is sometimes tricky for small businesses which don’t have the reserves on hand that larger companies do. 8. Offer constructive suggestions or your discounted skills or services to help business owners and managers who may be struggling. 9. Stay patient – many businesses are having a hard time finding good employees to keep things moving! 10. Keep your focus local! Our businesses need you, whether you are a regular patron or a one-time buyer!
