We appreciate you taking time away from your business to be a part of the biggest and best event in the used vehicle industry. I promise you it will be well worth your time and investment. Once again we bring the expertise and resources of NIADA and the National Alliance of Buy Here-Pay Here Dealers together for a comprehensive industry MegaConference, featuring the most extensive education agenda in the Convention’s long history. We have five educational tracks – Retail, Buy Here-Pay Here, Certified Pre-Owned, Digital Marketing and Legal and Compliance – to help you Accelerate Your Success. We’ve assembled the top educators and trainers in the field, including Chuck Bonanno and the NIADA Dealer Development team, “Mr. Accountability” Dave Anderson, NABD founder Ken Shilson, Google’s Kelly McNearney, ADESA’s Doug Hadden and many, many more. Bring your legal and compliance questions to the “Ask the Counselors” session and get free advice from a panel of attorneys led by CarLawyer Tom Hudson. Dealer panels will discuss topics ranging from digital marketing to underwriting and more. And because nobody understands the issues you face like another independent dealer, we’ve introduced a new Dealer to Dealer series – dealers talking directly to dealers about dealer stuff – featuring NABD co-founder and longtime dealer Ingram Walters sharing lessons learned from a life in the car business. The keynote speaker, legendary business executive Sarah Robb O’Hagan, will show how to accelerate your success by becoming the most “extreme” version of yourself. You can meet her Tuesday during the Grand Opening of the largest Expo Hall in the used vehicle industry, a 125,000-square-foot space packed with more than 220 exhibitors offering the latest products

and services to help you grow your business and stay ahead of the competition – not to mention food, fun and giveaways of cash and prizes. We’ll also have a Finance Fair on Wednesday, where you can meet one-on-one with finance sources to discuss your dealership’s specific needs and find solutions. There are events that allow you to relax in a social setting, including Monday night’s Welcome Reception, a Tuesday night concert featuring Trace Adkins and a reception for first-time attendees with tips on how to get the most from your Convention experience. And as always, NIADA will honor the industry’s best, beginning with three new awards – Rising Star, Outstanding Woman and Outstanding Pioneer – presented at Tuesday’s Dealer Luncheon, and continuing with Wednesday night’s National Leadership Awards banquet and Thursday’s announcement of the coveted National Quality Dealer award. We’ll cap it off by celebrating our 2019 NQD winner at Thursday night’s After Party. I want to thank you again for taking the time to invest in yourself and the used vehicle industry by coming here to learn about new ideas for your business, discover what’s happening in our industry, network with your peers from around the nation, honor industry leaders and celebrate NIADA’s longstanding traditions. Expo Scavenger Hunt Cards

Be sure to pick up your Scavenger Hunt card at Registration and take it with you to the Expo. Visit participating vendors and get your card stamped in the designated square for each company. Fill up all squares and turn in your card at the times below daily for a chance at cash prizes! Tuesday, June 18 – Turn in your card by 7:45 pm at Booth 445 for a $500 Cash Prize Drawing and additional drawing sponsored by Experian! Lost Property Wednesday, June 19 – Turn in your card by 2:45 Lost and Found can be checked at The Venetian, The pm at Booth 445 for a $500 Cash Prize Drawing and Palazzo, or Sands Expo Security podiums. Security additional drawing sponsored by Experian! podiums are located next to the main cashier’s Thursday, June 20 – Turn in your card by 1:45 pm cage in both casinos and in the main lobby of the at Booth 445 for a $1,000 Cash Prize Drawing and Sands Expo. Lost Keys

A verified suite key will be required to access the hotel elevators. If any member of your group should lose a suite key or the key does not function properly, notify The Venetian Security ext. 4.9311, The Palazzo Security ext. 7.9311, or an inhouse operator using any house telephone. If a problem is recognized in the hotel area, a security officer will be dispatched to the suite to assist. Note: officers are posted in the hotel towers 24 hours a day

Unattended Bags

Bags, backpacks, briefcases, or other items should not be left unattended. Unattended items will be investigated by security and turned in to lost and found.

Weapons Policy

Except for on-duty law enforcement and special events with advance approval, Firearms are not allowed on property at The Venetian Hotel, The Palazzo, or Sands Expo, including in vehicles. Knives with a blade length greater than 4 inches are also prohibited. Should a guest arrive on property with a weapon, it must be checked with Security on arrival. It will be safely secured and returned to the guest upon departure or as necessary.

ADESA will again host a live charity auction, featuring a 2016 Acura TLX TECH. See the car on display all week in the Expo Hall. Don’t miss the charity auction on Thursday, June 20 at 1:30 pm. In the Expo Hall, within the Dealer’s Lounge. All proceeds will benefit the NIADA Foundation. This is a fantastic vehicle to see on your lot or drive as your own. ADESA is a business unit of global vehicle remarketing and technology solutions provider, KAR Auction Services, Inc.

Badge Policy & Colors

Your security and benefits of registering for NIADA’s convention are important to us. Badges must be worn at all times. Expo Security will not grant access to the hall without a convention badge. A Do Not Disturb request will be honored for up to 48 hours; after that an internal observation of the entire suite is required. Bruce Beam started in the auction business in 1992 as the office manager of Dealers Auto Auction of Oklahoma City, rising to general manager in 1997, a position he kept until 2012 when he decided to take a break from the auction side of the business. Beam spent the next 5 years working for the largest Buy Here-Pay Here dealership in Oklahoma as a buyer, inventory manager, and special projects manager. During that time, he attended live auctions weekly as well as using every available online buying platform to search for and purchase inventory. Beam credits those 5 years with opening his eyes to what auction customers really need and want. In April 2017, Beam returned to Dealers Auto Auction of Oklahoma City, Inc. as general manager at the request of his family, who owns the auction. Since its opening in 1988, Dealers Auto Auction of Oklahoma City, Inc. has sold over 1.6 million vehicles for commercial and dealer clients, including General Motors, GMAC/Ally, Ford Motor Company, Ford Motor Credit, Chrysler, Chrysler Credit, Santander Consumer USA, Avis Budget Group, Hertz, and Group 1 to name just a few. Beam himself has served on the board of the Oklahoma Independent Automobile Dealers Association, Auction Pipeline/Auction Edge, and ServNet. Beam is currently the vice-president and president elect of the ServNet Auction Group and the head of its dealer relations committee.

As the president of Akron Auto Auction, Chad Bailey is a third-generation owner-operator of the family business, which just recently celebrated its 45th anniversary. Chad is currently president of the National Automobile Auction Association as well as serving on their Editorial, Convention, Political Action and Dynamic Leadership Committees. He recently obtained his Ohio auctioneer apprentice license, fulfilling a dream to be able to call bids at his own sale. Chad is also a member of the Ohio Auctioneer Association as well as the National Auctioneers Association. He hosted the World Auctioneering Championships in 2010 and has judged both the IAC and WAAC multiple times. Born and raised in Canton, Ohio, Chad earned his bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Miami University in Oxford and his master’s in business administration from the University of West Florida in Pensacola, where he currently serves on the alumni board of directors. He received their Outstanding Alumni Award in 2019. Chad resides with his wife and two children in Canton, Ohio. Chad serves on multiple community football and basketball boards and also coaches high school basketball and youth basketball/football.

Chuck Bonanno, NIADA National Director of 20 Groups, has been a nationally recognized speaker, author, industry trainer and consultant in the Buy Here-Pay Here industry for 25 years. He began his automotive career as a senior officer for a BHPH dealer in Florida and was an integral part of Suncoast Auto Brokers’ profitable growth. His organization merged with three other large independent dealers to create a publicly held company known as Smart Choice Automotive Group before joining Leedom and Associates, LLC in 2001 as a moderator.

Randy Barone has been in the automobile industry for over 30 years. Randy has been involved in every aspect of the industry, from management to consulting. Randy has always been on the cutting edge of bringing technology and the latest processes to the auto industry. Key positions held by Barone include president of Pearl Solutions, president of Redbumper, and executive president of sales for American Auto Exchange, Inc. (aaXchange). Randy is considered an expert in custom-designed training for new, used, and Buy Here-Pay Here dealerships. He is a consultant for NADA and NCM 20 Groups and has been a national speaker for state conventions, multiple 20 groups, and a speaker at the 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2018, and 2019 National Automobile Conventions. Randy has held every position in retail automobile sales, from sales to general manager. Randy has been honored as a Grand Master Salesperson by Ford Motor Company for selling over 300 units in one year. Prior to joining aaXchange, he was national director of training at AFAS, an automotive financial services and training company, responsible for training and sales of AFAS products and sales agents. Randy currently conducts dealer meetings and in-store consulting with top dealer groups, providing information to improve overall dealership frontend processes, from the time a customer looks at a vehicle online, trade evaluations, completing the transaction online or in store, inventory management and used vehicle processes.

Neil Bradley, executive vice president and chief policy officer at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, has spent two decades working directly with congressional committee chairpersons and other high-ranking policymakers to achieve solutions. At the Chamber, Bradley is responsible for aligning the organization’s overall policy priorities and advocacy efforts. He oversees several major policy divisions within the Chamber: economic policy; employment policy; small business policy; and cyber, intelligence and security policy. Health policy, transportation infrastructure policy and environmental affairs and sustainability policy are also under his leadership. Bradley spent nearly 20 years working in the House of Representatives. He served as deputy chief of staff for Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA). Earlier in his career, Bradley served for four-and-a-half years as executive director of the Republican Study Committee. He also held numerous positions in the office of then Rep. Tom Coburn (R-OK). Bradley is a graduate of Georgetown University. David Brotherton, a NIADA Dealer 20 Group moderator/consultant and trainer, manages several Buy Here-Pay Here Dealer 20 Groups and provides on-site dealership evaluation and conducts topic-specific training seminars. Ron L. Brown is the president and CEO of CSI Group in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one of the oldest and largest asset recovery investigation agencies in the Central Plains region. A state licensed Private Investigator and member of the National Association of Fraud Investigators, he has over 45 years of experience in the field of locating and recovering lost and missing people and assets and has assisted many law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshall’s service, Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Texas Rangers. Anna F. Buckner is the managing member of Anna F. In 2002 Steven passed his CPA exam in his first sitting and became a full time member of the firm’s audit team. Michael Cavanaugh is a United States Marine Corps and automotive industry veteran with over 20 years in automotive. He started working with his father as young man at dealership in Detroit and after his second tour in Iraq returned to the automotive industry. He was most recently the Chief Operating Officer of CARite and now serves as the executive vice president at MAX Digital. Ryan Clark is a third generation owner of Greater Rockford Auto Auction. He is also the founder of Dealer Preferred Capital and a cofounder of Turn Auctions. Prior to his auction roles, he was a consultant with AlixPartners in the turnaround and restructuring practice and an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and Bear Stearns. He has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College. He serves on the boards of ServNet and the Illinois IADA. Jonah Cole is the product manager for Dominion Dealer Solutions’ SEM and VinVelocity products. Jonah is responsible for the constant evolution of the SEM products and regularly advises Dominion’s strategic account team on how to optimize dealers’ SEM through VIN-specific advertising on Google, Bing and the social media landscape. Prior to joining Off Lease Only as general counsel, Ejola was a partner at The Ticktin Law Group, overseeing the complex commercial litigation, consumer, and intellectual property cases, including representing Off Lease Only in the groundbreaking case against Carfax (Case No. 9:12-CV-80193-DTKH). As general counsel, Ejola has implemented streamlined legal and compliance process within the company and established strong working relationships with state and local regulators. Tim has held several roles over 17-plus years with CarHop, including COO and CFO. Prior to CarHop, he spent 8 years at American Agco, Inc. as CFO and COO. Tim graduated from the University of South Dakota and earned his MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. David Fricke is line of business manager for the Lender Finance Group of Texas Capital Bank. David Gavin is an American entrepreneur, Facebook Marketing expert, videographer and business development strategist. Gavin is best known for his work in digital marketing and Facebook as the owner and chief marketing officer for 13Leads.com. Kait Gavin serves as vice president and general manager for Dealertrack’s registration and title and collateral management services businesses. Kait joined Cox Automotive in September 2017 leading operations for Dealertrack registration and title solutions. In March 2018 Kait became vice president and general manager of Dealertrack registration and title solutions and assumed responsibility for collateral management services in November 2018. Kait brings 15-plus years of auto finance, operations, and compliance experience to the role. Prior to joining Cox Automotive, Kait was at CarMax Auto Finance, where she led multiple operations teams from customer service through late collections, including developing collections dialer strategies and technical support teams. Doug Hadden is executive director of dealer consulting services for ADESA and has been a speaker or panelist at almost every major industry event, including Digital Dealer, NABD, AIADA, NIADA, numerous 20 groups and state associations. In his current role, Hadden helps dealers understand how to take advantage of new technology. Through his unique mix of professional experience and knowledge, Hadden has attained the skills to do what he likes best: training, coaching and helping others to grow their business. With his diverse set of automotive industry experience, Hadden understands dealerships and what it takes to make them successful. Gary Harman has over 30 years’ experience in consumer lending. Gary’s experience includes a wide range of financial institutions, from money center banks to credit unions. His specialties include automotive, credit card, mortgage, and subprime lending. Mr. Harman has an analytic and pragmatic approach to solving business problems. Prior to JD Byrider, Gary has worked at HSBC, Discover, First Chicago, American Express, and Kinecta Federal Credit Union. He was educated at Cornell, where he received an MBA with honors in finance and operations, and at Southampton, England, where he received a BS in Physics and Mathematics. Mr. Harman is an expert in auto lending, both in the risk and product management. He was chief credit officer for HSBC auto and is now chief risk officer for JD Byrider. He had full product ownership from marketing and sales through underwriting and collection for Kinecta Credit Union’s automotive product. Mr. Harman grew up in London, England. He married his graduate school sweetheart and emigrated to the U.S. He continued to move around the country from New York through Chicago and California before returning to Chicago.

Daniel Gill has served as Chief Product Officer for Carvana since March 2015, overseeing all technology functions, as well as strategic partnerships for the business. Prior to joining Carvana, Mr. Gill spent his career in both enterprise software and consumer internet businesses. Mr. Gill served as head of strategy and business development for inflection from May 2014 to March 2015. He co-founded and served as CEO of Huddler from 2007 until the company’s acquisition by Wikia in May of 2014. Mr. Gill holds a degree in Biology from Stanford University.

Marty Valldejuli is from Matthews Motors Wilmington. He was raised in the car business with his father and dealership owner in Virginia Beach, before moving to Charleston, S.C., with his wife Kimberly of 11 years and two boys, Devin and David. Over the years he has worked in almost every department and role within dealerships, and is currently the eCommerce Director with Matthews Motors, a 3-store independent group out of North Carolina. He has been with Matthews Motors since 2011 and oversees all three stores, managing all digital marketing channels, from SEM to SEO, social media, reputation and website management. Marshall Zoerner is president and trainer of Dealer Consultant Pro as well as co-owner and vice president of Freeman Motor Company. After 17 years of experience in selling, hiring, training, and growing a successful company, he launched Dealer Consultant Pro to reach independent dealers and “untangle the mess” in their dealership. Marshall consults with all sizes, from a one man, small business to a multiple-owner, large operation. Freeman Motor Company is a luxury European car dealership and service center, with locations in Portland and Salem, Oregon. Staying in the business helps with practical tools that he isn’t afraid to implement himself. Marshall has been involved in NIADA’s 20 Groups and is a 3-time CMD dealer.

George Verkamp is a 10-plus year ALLDATA/ AutoZone executive who is dedicated to helping automotive dealers maximize efficiency and increase profitability. Prior to AutoZone/ ALLDATA, George held various automotive industry leadership roles. George is a graduate of Hanover College in Hanover, Ind. Ingram Walters is a passionate entrepreneur and businessman who owns or operates companies focused in the Buy Here-Pay Here industry and real estate development. He and his wife Missy recently purchased a new car dealership, Bob Mayberry Hyundai, in the Charlotte, N.C., market. Known for his sense of humor, he has been the featured speaker at several national conventions and is often asked to serve as the Master of Ceremonies at charitable and political events. Ingram is a 1983 graduate of Monroe High School. He also has a B.S. in economics and B.A. in business administration from N.C. State University. Ingram and Missy have three children: Erin, Griffin and Will. Mike Waterman is senior vice president of sales at ACV Auctions. A 20-plus year veteran of the auto industry, Waterman brings deep experience in market development, hiring top sales talent and working with dealerships to enhance their wholesale process. Prior to his arrival at ACV Auctions, the leading dealer-to-dealer online wholesale platform, Michael most recently served in product and sales management roles at Dealersocket, Dealertrack, and ADESA after beginning his career managing dealerships. Michael has a proven track record when it comes to increasing productivity, reducing staff turnover and engineering cost-saving solutions for business problems. He’s also built quality sales and support teams that exceed sales goals while maintaining industryleading client retention performance. Sean Welsh is the CEO and co-founder of Car Biz Done Better, a vendor agnostic, dealer advocate whose sole purpose is to work with dealers to understand their digital marketing while avoiding waste and overspending. After 20 years working retail, with an OEM and as an independent digital consultant, Sean is uniquely qualified to act as a digital resource, advocate and partner for his clients. Sean’s goal is to provide his clients with the confidence to make informed decisions about their digital marketing in this world of digital uncertainty and big data. David J. Wiggins, CPA, CFE, is a tax principal at CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, specializing in dealership taxation and consulting. He has a keen understanding of the challenges that small and medium size businesses face every day. Dave has extensive experience in planning and problem solving in many facets of today’s complex financial landscape. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. Tim Yalich is senior manager of product planning at Reynolds and Reynolds. He is responsible for the application and business development of F&I solutions including Menus, eContracting, and the docuPAD system. Prior to joining Reynolds in 2000, he was employed by a large automotive retail group in Virginia and Maryland for eight years supporting F&I operations and IT management. Tim is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a business degree in management information systems.
