The Wine King & Dominion

Consider

The WINE KING the latest in a long history of NAC group projects. Lump it in our archives with the miniature shows of the 70s and early 2000s, the kite show, our completely putt-able mini-golf course, and the appallingly filthy dirty show we presented here a few years back. While we’re at it we may as well include our every expanding, ever demanding, STRUTT Wearable Art Show along with popular circus events like Gavel Gala Hey and ART MRKT. All these projects came together when our artist members got behind the idea, worked like mad fiends, and determined from the outset that they were going to have a hell of a good time while they were at it. Along with the chain lightning energy these projects unleash, they define the character of the arts in Niagara and send thunderclap signals about the type of community we have here: Snapping with energy, boundlessly creative, and brimming with wit and good humour.

Thanks to Seth for quickly identifying these attributes and putting his faith in the NAC crew to bring the WINE KING to life. The twinning of Dominion City and the City of St. Catharines has had a grand beginning and we’ll see what the future holds. I’ve tried to recognize each member of the small army of NAC artists, volunteers, and supporters here. Thanks for making Grape & Wine 2009 one to remember!
