Niagara University - Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Volunteering and Shadowing Program: Opportunities for students to provide assistance to patients in a health care setting, learn about health care from the patient’s perspective, gain greater empathy for those who are in need of health care, shadow a health care professional, and gain greater assurance of their vocation under tutelage of an individual mentor.

Opportunities to gain exposure to the health care field by volunteer experience and structured internships
Health Internships: Opportunities for students to intern with local health care professionals.

Opportunities to learn about future directions and emerging technologies in health care and the life sciences
Medical Missions: Two week medical missions trip to Central America where students assist at medical, dental and veterinary clinics as well as participate in community home health visits.

Dyster ’48 M.D. Health Sciences Center: Located in the B. Thomas Golisano Center for Integrated Sciences, the center contains a resource library, computer, smart board and seminar space John J. Hughes ’67 M.D. Endowed Lectureship in the Health Sciences: The lectureship recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the health sciences or to healthcare. The lecture provides an academic forum for the university community, area healthcare professionals, and members of the general public to address topics of importance in contemporary healthcare.
