Statement of Intent (SOI) - (400 words)
INPRESS Rebrand: The majority of the INPRESS rebrand needs to be completed before the first planned event on the 25th October 2012, but there is scope to continue after this deadline to further the range. The rebranding and the event production will be split between the group, I will be apart of the rebrand team and taking this on as a two week project. Week 1: Minimal research is required as we are our selves the clients. Concept development and design development will be the aim of week one. Week 2: Week two will be for evaluating where we are with the brief and making quick early decisions on the fundamental parts of the project so product production can start. Week 9/10: Will be left free to consolidate what we have produced for presentation and submission.
Alternative guide to San Francisco: The collaboration between Max and myself on this brief will be broken down into two parts and started in week 4 after dissertation week. Again with this project the majority of the research has already been undertaken and any other research will run along side concept development. The project has been broken down into two sections the first four weeks concentrating on the printed guide and the identity of the publication. The following weeks will be put aside for the introduction of any screen based promotion and collateral for the project, for example website, twitter and applications. Week 3: Concept development, this is a more crucial part of the project, we will need to consider in a lot of detail how we want to and what is the best way to present the work. Within the context of a travel guide. Week 4: Design development, this product needs to have a strong identity so it is well recognised and used in any medium. Developing an identity and consequently the layout design of the publication and poetical website and apps will be crucial to this brief. Week 5: Evaluation and selection. This will be and opportunity to really secure hopefully a joint idea of how the project is taking shape and come up with a final design and methods of delivery. Production and resolution, There should be a few parts to this brief exploring both screen and print, allowing for a few weeks to collate the print collateral will be vital. Week 6: Production and resolution, Presentation and submission. Part 2: Week 7: Design development for the screen based collateral. Week 8: Evaluation and selection, and Production and resolution. Week 9: Presentation and submission for entire brief.
Alzheimer’s Awareness Due to the nature of this brief being predominantly research driven it again will be broken down into sections. The first for the research which will be an on going part of the brief up until the production stage of the brief which will commence between the 12th November and the 7th of December, leaving the final week free for submission. Week 6: Concept development, this should be directly influenced by my research, giving a clear sense of direction to the project and the way the specific products should take shape. Week 7: Design development, getting the products right and in accordance to what my research is telling me will be main task within the development of the product and branding of this brief. Week 8: Evaluation and selection, Production and resolution, a large part of this brief is print based so I would like to leave a good amount of time to be able to print and make any necessary adjustments. Week 9: Production and resolution, Presentation and submission.
Truyu: The branding of Truyu will be unlike the others and will run the entire 10 weeks, as it is a large brief but has essentially one element to it, but with the freedom to include several other parts as an extension for example point of sales. Week 1: Research and investigation, because this is a client lead brief most of the main research has been done but it will still be beneficial to research the market and what other similar companies are doing and how they apply there brand to the high street or internet. Week 2: Concept development, with this brief there is huge scope and possibilities in terms of the branding and getting it exactly right for the product client and market, therefore some considerable time should be put into this. Week 3: Concept development continued. Week4: Design development, similarly with the concept development there is large scope of the product and range of products. From the brand to the packaging. Week 5: Design development continued. Week 6: Design development continued. Week 7: Evaluation and selection Week 8: Production and resolution, this will be almost completely print based and therefore will require time for amendments and printing. Week 9: Production and resolution continued. Week 10: Presentation and submission.
