Inspired by travel this collection of garments encompasses feelings, colours and shapes from various places. Fabric a n d t r i m s w e r e d e l i b e r at e ly s o u r c e d at t h e i n i t i a l d e s i g n s ta g e t o e n s u r e t h e r e wa s m i n i m a l c o m p r o m i s e - t h e r e s u lt i s t h at ‘J u s t D o Y o u r B i t ’ i s e n t i r e ly m a d e o f o r g a n i c o r r e p u r p o s e d m at e r i a l s . C o r ozo b u t t o n s , m a d e f r o m o r g a n i c Ta g u a nut fibres, and button holes from a 1960s Reece Keyhole machine are used instead of zips. Over time zips break and can be d i f f i c u lt t o f i x , w h e r e a s b u t t o n s c a n b e r e p l a c e d a n d b u t t o n h o l e s pat c h e d u p. O t h e r m a c h i n e r y s u c h a s a U n i o n S p e c i a l C h a i n s t i t c h - o r i g i n a l ly u s e d t o construct American overalls - are also used to add authenticity and durability to these utility style garments. The proposal of Just Do Your Bit is to c r e at e a c o h e s i v e capsule wa r d r o b e f o r t h e c r e at i v e i n d i v i d u a l .
Disregarding classic ideas of season and gender, Just Do Your Bit isn’t for a specific time or place a s g a r m e n t s c a n b e l ay e r e d f o r c o l d e r c l i m a t e s a n d w o r n o n a n y b o d y. Longevity within design and construction is key for doing the right thing for the e n v i r o n m e n t. B e i n g c r e at i v e i s a n a c t i o n n at u r a l t o u s , so the choice comes in doing it in the right way a n d m a k i n g t h e b e s t c h o i c e s p o s s i b l e . In reference to this collection pieces are designed with hard wearing construction, classic styles, and personal character drawn from experiences. The overall aim i s t o c r e at e c l o t h i n g w h i c h g e n e r at e s a p e r s o n a l c o n n e c t i o n o f va l u e a n d r e s p e c t. Clothes should have stories and characters unique to each wearer. The collection aspires to provide the blank page on which a person can continue the biography of the item as it changes hands and is mended and explored in.

everything apron _ Inspired by painters basement studio in budapest. organic cotton texweave. side openings to allow access to under layers. multi pockets. Reinforced rope inserted hanging loop. Constructed on union special chain stitch machine. overstitch reinforcment on stress points.
u-bahn jacket & pleated jeans _ inspired by pink U-bahn platform in berlin. repurposed denim & organic cotton. reinforced rope inserted belt loops. bound seams. overstitch reinforcement on stress points.
Møller slacks _ aka “the potato pants” inspired by møller breakfast cafe in copenhagen. natural organic denim. relaxed fit, due to the nature of natural denim the slacks will shrink - so the hems have been left raw and rolled, wear them, maybe wash them, send them back and we’ll hem them to the correct length for you. overstitch on stress areas to prolong life. contrast bound seams and pockets.
edinburgh overcoat _ Inspired by the scale of edinburgh’s architecture. cotton herringbone, lined with batting and contrast crossweave - all organic. overstitch used as joining technique. hand finished with japanese boro style embroidery detailing. concept piece.
