On behalf of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA), it is my pleasure to invite you to explore the range of exciting partnership opportunities available with NIBA for 2024. Since our inception in 1982, NIBA has been dedicated to supporting our members which currently comprises 420 principal firms and over 9,000 individual brokers across Australia. Our diverse membership includes large multinational insurance brokers, Australian broker networks, and small to medium-sized businesses in both urban and regional areas. As the leading representative body for Australia's general insurance broking profession, we are committed to representing the interests of our members through three key pillars: Representation, Professionalism, and Community. Representation: We actively advocate on behalf of insurance brokers to government bodies, regulators, industry stakeholders, the media, and the community to ensure that the voice of insurance brokers is respected and relevant in shaping government policy and regulation. Professionalism: NIBA is dedicated to promoting high standards of professional practice among general insurance brokers. This includes industryrelevant education, continuous professional development, adherence to the Insurance Brokers Code of Practice, and the establishment of a framework for ethical and professional conduct by our members.

Additionally, we actively promote the role and value of insurance brokers to the wider community, aiming to position insurance broking as a respected and desired profession. Gala Lunches NIBA hosts five annual Gala Lunches in key locations around the country - Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth, with each event attracting up to 500 insurance professionals.

The climax includes the announcement of the prestigious Broker of the Year Award and the Young Broker of the Year Award state winners, making each occasion a highlight in the industry calendar.

Featuring relevant guest speakers or entertainment, these events provide a unique platform to celebrate excellence in broking, while creating a vibrant setting for fostering connections and sparking new business relationships.

The Gala Lunches allow you to showcase your commitment to the insurance broking sector’s growth and success, aligning your brand with excellence in broking and positioning you as a champion of industry.

NIBA Convention The NIBA Convention is a one-of-a-kind event bringing together the entire insurance broking community, regardless of cluster group allegiances or brokerage size. Our diverse delegates range from seasoned decision-makers and industry executives to young brokers who embody the future of leadership in the field. Drawing attendees from a range of sectors, including insurance broking firms, general insurance companies, underwriting agencies, premium funding companies, legal firms, financial services organizations, loss adjusters, major accounting firms, state government insurance offices, life insurance companies, reinsurance companies,

As we all know conventions/ conferences are not always worth the investment and in the past have deteriorated into a social gathering however this was not the case with NIBA 23. It was definitely worth the $ and time investment and I’m sure everyone came away having learnt something they did not know before they attended.

I believe that this conference was very successful from an Insurer point of view, and I think overall as the marketplace and sessions were well attended by many brokers. Congrats to NIBA.

Mentoring Program The NIBA Mentoring Program is designed to support young professionals working in the general insurance industry, providing them with a platform to learn and excel. The program fosters dynamic mentoring partnerships between experienced industry leaders and young professionals, empowering them to set focused goals and strive for higher levels of performance.

Scheduled to run for 12 weeks, from August to November in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide, the program combines both virtual and face-to-face mentoring, educational sessions, and networking opportunities. Thanks to your sponsorship, we are able to offer this program at no cost to both mentees and mentors, enabling us to continue supporting the growth and development of young professionals in our industry.
