Company Timeline Hydron Module founded as a small manufacturer of geothermal heat pumps in South Dakota.

1977

Enertech expands distribution into Minnesota and Wisconsin by forming Northern Geothermal.

1989

Thermal Energy Transfer Company (TETCO) begins manufacturing water-source heat pumps (the term “geothermal” doesn’t yet exist for space conditioning).

Enertech purchases Hydron Module brand and 20,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. Enertech Manufacturing is created.

1996

2001

Enertech, Inc. founded as a geothermal heat pump distributor in Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri.

About Enertech As a people-centric company, we believe in family values, loyalty beyond reason, assurance in quality craftsmanship, and making the world a better place.

2003

Enertech begins distributing its own geothermal brand, GeoComfort, built under contract.

When Enertech first began in 1996, it was with one simple philosophy: People come first. Since that day, that’s exactly what we’ve been doing, and we now manufacture great brands such as GeoComfort, Hydron Module, and TETCO. As a people-centric company, we believe in family values, loyalty beyond reason, assurance in quality craftsmanship, and making the world a better place. That’s our roadmap, carefully guiding every decision we make. In fact, it’s more than what we believe; It’s simply who we are. With that, we’re always looking for ways to move our company forward, stay innovative, and encourage small changes to make a big impact on our environment. From our products to our work atmosphere, everything we do carries this philosophy, and you’ll see it throughout each department and within our strategic partnerships and vendor relations.

2007

GeoComfort Compass Series and Hydron Revolution Series debut as industry’s first multi-position vertical packaged heat pumps. New design allows for field conversion from left-hand to right-hand, upflow to downflow, in one model. Enertech acquires TETCO brand from Edwards Engineering in New Jersey. Ground is broken for another plant expansion. The result is an 80,000 sq. ft. facility, quadruple the size of the original purchase.

2008

20,000 sq. ft. expansion completed of newly acquired production facility. Hydron Module and GeoComfort heat pumps now built “in house.”

2009

Enertech’s new vertical packaged models win gold and bronze Dealer Design Awards presented by The ACHR News magazine.

Throughout the years, we’ve experienced phenomenal growth and delivered award-winning product innovations. In 2014, Enertech became part of NIBE Industrier AB, an 8,000 employee strong European company and the largest geothermal heat pump manufacturer in the world. With their added support, we’ve been able to continue focusing on our world-class product design to set a new standard in the geothermal industry. For example, we were the first to use an all-aluminum microchannel air coil, eliminating unit failure caused by formicary corrosion. At Enertech, we think a little differently about geothermal technology. Because of our unique approach, we continue to find ways to make it even better for contractors to install and home and building owners to enjoy. We do this, all while maintaining our commitment to customer service, product excellence, and quality craftsmanship.

Superior reliability... From products made in the heart of America When it comes to Enertech Global Heat Pumps, there’s nothing more important than quality. In fact, we believe that quality is everyone’s job, and it’s taken seriously from start to finish. And it’s not just because we want to make good products, it’s because we are proud to make the best products. To ensure this, every product must meet strict standards. In fact, our testing is the most robust in the industry. SOUTH DAKOTA These tests take place in our production facility located in Mitchell, South Dakota, just past the world’s only Corn Palace and endless span of rich American farmland. That’s where we build incredible geothermal systems, test them, and ship to contractors across the U.S. and Canada.
