Rip Curl celebrates its 30th year of Searching in the mountains this year. We have always known that surfers like to ski and snowboard in the winter - it’s a natural progression - and our Founders Brian and Claw did this very early on in the formation of Rip Curl - skiing all over the world and joining the Ski Patrol at Mt Buller in the Aussie winter. To this day, we continue to bring the same attitude of The Search, fun and technology to our brand when in the Alps of the world, making great products that work when the weather is cold and the powder is on. In 1987 Rip Curl started developing it’s own Mountainwear range. With 20 years focusing on the world’s best surfing products it was a natural progression to the mountains.
It started with a Search Trip. The appeal for the mountains, the snow, the Search was huge, the need for Rip Curl Mountainwear product was clear.
In 30 years, the Search took us to the most amazing places. From Mt Buller (Australia), to Chamonix, Canada, Chile, Alaska, New Zealand and many more‌ With the most amazing and talented crew.
