News ... Guadalajara, Mexico St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the Pan American Games Chief of Mission, Shaun Young, has indicated that team spirit is high and that they athletes are all appreciative of having been taken to Guadalajara, a place with high altitude, to get acclimatised. Competition at the Games thus far has been of a high standard with several athletes and teams making the standards for next year’s London Olympics.
Team St. Vincent and the Grenadines swings into action this afternoon when Kineke Alexander and Courtney Williams participate in a Pre-Games competition which is being used as a test event for the newly laid track in Guadalajara. Pan Am Games competition for the Vincentians begin in earnest tomorrow, 20 October when swimmer, Tolga Akcayli engages the 50m Freestyle. Two days later Dominic Ollivierre will contest the Men’s Individual Road race. Courtney Williams, competing in the 100m and 200m would start on 24 October while Kineke’s 400m jaunt begins on 25 October.

Meanwhile, the St. Vincent and the Grenadines National Olympic Committee has extended congratulations to the Cayman islands for the gold, silver and bronze swimming medals won over the past three days and to Trinidad and Tobago for the Cycling and Shooting achievements.
