BARHAUS The objectiv of the Barhaus consists in bringing together groups of people in a place where they can meet, discuss and enjoy. The Barhaus is placed at the end of the 50m wood installation and represents

Craftwork i Bachelor 3rd Semester Studio : M. Bakker und A. Blanc (MANSLAB)
The project consist in imaging a self-sufficient village around the ÂŤTour de GourzeÂť, situated on the most exposed part to wind of the region of Lausanne. The village has to be linked with a wind-energy infrastrucure.

«Quand le vent se lève, la machine se met en marche. Les godets remplis d'eau reprennent leur cycle et le grincement de la chaine accompagne le chant du vent entre les lames porteuses. Posé sur les épaisses lames, d'imposantes constructions en bois présentent, comme enchainements de bâtiments : une entrée mène dans les ateliers, de hauts espaces ouverts. Des escaliers mènent vers un autre espace où les gens mangent, cuisinent et discutent ensemble, puis vers l'espace intime de chaque habitant, un long couloir avec une enfilade de chambres. On sort et on continue à monter. Tout en haut on voit le monolithe moteur, la Tour de Gourze. Ici, les godets se gorgent d'eau et entament leur redescente.»

HIL The intention of this project consists in working with the existing structure and to enhance the space quality inside. In this way, lifts, most staircase and the auditorium are maintained. The main changes applied on the building is an addition of two levels for the studios, and a prolongation on the two sides.
