Galleria

Gwanggyo, South Korea

The Galleria is a department store franchise founded in the 1970s that has remained at the forefront of the premium retail market in Korea. This store in Gwanggyo, a new city in southern Seoul, is Galleria's sixth branch. Located in the heart of this young urban development, the Galleria is surrounded by tall residential buildings, and its stone-like exterior makes it a natural center of gravity for the public to live in a bridge of light. The store is located in an urban area but overlooks a nature reserve. The building has a mosaic stone façade that gives it a natural look.

The sharp edges and the diamond shape of the building allows it to have a futuristic feel towards the building and this can also be seen through the brutalist base of the building
