02 BIENVENUE CHEZ NOUS - APT Welcome to our home. The project sits on Jean Jaures Plaza, the ruins of an ancient Roman city in Apt, France. The plaza is being redesigned to host a boutique hotel that will embrace new visitors, generate unique experience and revive its history. The concept is inspired by the flow of people coming into the site and the language of the streets of the city. Through simple yet powerful spatial manipulations, the hotel optimizes a flow on the site that embraces the ruins and open up to an urban area where both locals and visitors of the city can interact. The footprint of the building will occupy a small proportion of the site leaving Jean Jaures Plaza accessible to the city. Guests circulate and inhabit the hotel in total privacy, away from the general public and facing the residential. Whereas the ground floor combines a restaurant, an open auditorium, a place for a possible expansion of the market and plenty of open space for circulation.

04 EFA COMPETITION - HOGAR Hogar is a prototype residence for families affected by Hurricane Irma in 2017. This affordable housing project has been designed to resist mud-slide, fluds and hurricanes force. The concept of the house is inspired by the cultural and social identity of the community of San Juan. The approach was to revisit the idea of a contemporary kitchen and establish a place of social interaction at the center. The Kitchen represent the most significant space as it is the connection between the rooms and the exterior spaces; and also the most ventilated area. The program is simple and gives residents comfort and the flexibility to enjoy their privacy as well as communal areas, following the regulations of universal design. The shape of the house was designed to accommodate expansion and foster bigger communities. Moreover, the design allows for passive heating and colling as well as rainwater collection, on-site water filtration and photovoltaic panels.

Healing Through Nature embraces the natural environment of Hollywood Beach, Florida - the sun, the water, the earth, the sky, the wind, the vegetation - and minimizes the impact upon this beautiful and lively coastal community. Those elements of nature that play an important part in the natural recovery of cancer patients inspired my design. Cancer patients from a wide range of age and medical conditions will come together to experience the natural environment of Hollywood Beach, Florida. They will live, interact, learn, exercise, relax, play and recover with others from within and outside the community. Project theme Healthcare Design Project information Hollywood Beach, Florida

05 RE-INVENTER L’HISTOIRE

__ Designing in elevation

"Reinventer l'Histoire" (Reinvent History) was the process of designing the space inside the ruins at the SCAD Museum of Art's courtyard. The Approach was to design a hybrid space that combines the work of four different artists and provides the community around with various artistic, visual and learning experiences. Emphasis was placed on incorporating nature into the design of the structure and create pleasing gathering space for students and visitors to interact in. __ Adding floors to fit the program The Building gesture has been extracted from the study of a classical dance movement: Ballet. The positions of the hands, arms, feet, and legs was translated into lines, which had been manipulated to generate the conceptual form that was further develop into the overall building mass. 06 MATHILDA BEASLEY SHELTER This project is a concept for a dog and cats adoption shelter located in the park dedicated to Mathilda Beasley, the first African American nun to serve in the state of Georgia. The park is mainly desert and only populated by trees. The design uses the shape of those trees’ branches to generate the form of the building.
