URBAN INSTITUTIONS four equals one: creating urban ribbons site: south end boston task: establish a cohensive and functional site, featuring a performing arts school, commercial spaces for retail and offices, as well as residential units in an already exhisting and active neighborhood of south boston. approach: a unifying space, where each program type, or ribbon, addresses each of the surrounding streets and is unified with the vitality of the outdoor courtyard SITE MASSING

02. TECTONIC STUDIES watchtower project site: none task: design & build a watchtower to demonstrate an understanding of the processes and methods involed in light wood frame construction challenge: maintaing a small base, a max length of 16’ wood, incorporating a unique stair, including the desired amount of windows, using a butterfly roof, having the proper backspan
03. FUNDAMENTAL DESIGN designing multi-fuctioning homes site: the base of a valley with public access route, situated among other plots in a community task: build a home for two users, both facilitating the home for their career (each flex space), incorporating aspects found throughout studying house typologies such as raum plan, free plan, and thick/thin. challenge: working with the typography to utilize the most out of the site, such as sunlight, views, & access points, as well as creating a home that functions efficiently as a multi-functioning building.
