‘Be careful what songs you write’ said Mark to Danny before they all faced the death. What else are The Script willing to do to get that clicks and bring down us to our knees? Anyone who’s afraid of heights should not watch this video. For the rest of us, bring it!
Man on a wire is a song
about a French guy who walked from one building to another on the rope. ‘He was trying to get over something and that inspired us to write this song’ Mark explains. After the decision that this is going to be the next sin-

director: FRANK BORIN place: CAPE TOWN lenght: 4:03 MINUTES gle, the video ideas were very interesting. Well, there were only two options to choose from. The first one was to film everything in the studios in front of a green screen and second option was to film everything for real. We all know that if the lads do something, they do it right. So
they flew to Cape Town, found the highest building there and they shot the video. While Mark was preparing to go and hang from the side of the building, he once again made a joke about the theme of Man on a wire by saying: ‘Rich man in Bermuda is the next song’. Mark is terrified of heights so there was a lot of courage and swearing during the filming.
‘That’s what it takes these days to get noticed.’ Danny seemed pretty excited and just a little bit scared considering that
he’s the one who’s walking on the rope. But as he said, he’s willing to do whatever it takes to get noticed, get those clicks for The Script. So what should we expect next time?? Words: Nicole Venglovicova

MEET COLTON AVERY
The Script introduced him to Europe and obviously it was the love at first sight. They planned to take him as their supporting act only for the UK part of the tour... but everything’s changed.
Colton was born in Phoe-
nix, Arizona but wait, what is he doing in Europe touring with The Script? Well, the lads decided to give support to some new talent and their fans love it. They started with The Original Rudeboys back in 2013 and now they discovered a guy from overseas.
Danny couldn’t wait to show off his latest talent to the UK crowd: ‘Our new artist Colton Avery is opening up acoustic tonight !!!!!!! Wait till you hear him !!!!!’ What firstly seemed as innocent appearence on NSWS tour, now turned into fan madness. Ok, maybe
it’s the strong word but The Script fans went a bit nuts about Colton. His Twitter and Facebook profiles are attacked by new crowd. People just fall in love with him. Why? He’s modest, handsome, talented and he’s having a beautiful voice full of emotions.
Colton’s fans decided to get him to play at Croke Park in June - the biggest show of The Script yet. They ran a petition because Mark gave them a little hint: ‚It’s up to you guys!’ These days Colton is recording songs with The Script and we can’t wait to hear them!
NY: DAN ARTIST NEW RY OUR ON AVE P T COL ENING U HT IS OP IC TONIG U YO UST ACO WAIT TILL !!! ! !!!!!!! R HIM ! HEA
So Colton’s been hanging out around the lads for a while, what he’s learnt from them? ‘These guys tell me to never stop working hard. Here’s Dan straight after a gig, going straight into working. These guys are beasts. Hopefully I can be just like them.’ Good luck Colton!
Colton’s logo When I described Colton as talented, I actually meant multitalented. I asked him who designed his logo because I think it looks really good. The answer was: ‘I did’. Musician and a really good designer? Hell yeah.

We are all glad that Peter didnt become an IT guy because his photos are exactly what The Script are about. Pure emotion, dedication and energy. There are so many photographers out there nowdays and yet its hard to nd a really good one. Well, The Script didnt have to go far from Ireland to nd theirs. Peter specialises in producing truly special Live Photography that captures the
show atmosphere. Clients include Queen, Justin Timberlake, The Script, U2, Will.iI.am, Sony, Colombia Records, Epic Records, Ennio Morricone, Gary Barlow, Billboard Magazine & many more. His personal work philosophy is to produce excellent work and treat those whom he meets with respect, consideration & kindness. With that in mind he has made some great friends on his journey through the indutry so far. Despite successful career that many others can only dream about, hes still very humble and thankful for what he has. Im not qualied to say any of this, Im not
wise, Im just a dork with a camera but I have learnt that you have to be relentlessly persistent with your dreams, but I am also saying never put them ahead of more important things like kindness or your own beliefs. words: Nicole Venglovicova

12 fan story
Music is one of the best healers healersout outthere there ten to when you feel lost, heartbroken, depressed, sad, suicidal, you name it. And when people have serious problems like those aforementioned, they turn to The Script’s
music to help them through it. One of those prime examples is longtime The Script fan Carly Sammons. We had the opportunity to talk with her and get her thoughts on the matter.
THE SCRIPT MAGAZINE (TSM): HI, CARLY! WOULD YOU PLEASE SHARE WITH US YOUR STORY?
CS: I rst heard them in 2008.
Carly Sammons (CS): My story is that I was going through a really hard time. It was a dark place and I couldnt see any way out. So I turned to music. Nothing was really helping. I was listening to the radio and We Cry by The Script came on. The lyrics just really hit me and stuck with me. After that, theyre who Ive always turned to.
TSM: WHICH SONGS OF THEIRS ARE YOUR FAVORITES, AND WHY?
TSM: WHEN DID YOU FIRST DISCOVER THE SCRIPT?
CS: My favorite is We Cry because it just has that message that really hits me. Though life may not have rainbows and happy endings, its okay. Because even in the darkest moments, we always have each other. My other favorite is Before the Worst. That song has kept me going through so much. The lyric if the clouds dont clear, then well rise
through anything. Even when bad things happen, thats not the end because theres always a way to get past all that and start new. TSM: WHAT IS IT ABOUT THEIR MUSIC THAT HELPS PEOPLE OVERCOME THEIR PROBLEMS AND GIVE THEM HOPE? CS: I think their music helps so many people is because their music is honest and true. Theyre not singing about parties and fame. Theyre singing about real life things and telling you its going to be okay. And I think thats something people need to hear. Their words are comforting. A lot of their songs are about sticking together and having someone. Their lyrics just really help people.
THE Y A S E NGS AT AR S O S “ S TH RSON’ G N I TH A PE S YOU N I G P DEE T. THIN OULD R HEA UGHT C T INTO THO R BE PU .” E NEV WORDS
TSM: WHY DO YOU THINK MUSIC IS SUCH AN OUTLET FOR PEOPLE FACING SERIOUS ISSUES, LIKE SUICIDE AND DEPRESSION? CS: I think music is such an outlet for people facing bad things because its comforting. Songs say the things that are deep in a persons heart. Things you thought could never be put into words. But hearing them in songs can really give a person hope. By hearing just one lyric, is the dierence between feeling
alone and knowing youre not. With music, youre part of something bigger and that can be something thats enough to keep someone going. TSM: YOU MENTIONED LYRICS ARE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FEELING ALONE AND NOT. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE LYRICS? CS: My favorite lyrics by The Script are If the clouds dont clear, then well rise above it, and She nds color in the darkest places, she nds beauty in the saddest of faces. In general probably You know me all to well, but you never had the chance to nd out who I really am and She always wanted what she never had, but never had what she needed so badly. TSM: ARE THERE OTHER BANDS THAT HAVE HELPED YOU THROUGH THEIR MUSIC? WHICH ONES? CS: Many have, but one in particular is Safetysuit. That band means so much to me and theyre always there for me. Literally, when Im feeling down, Doug sometimes messages me with advice and I couldnt thank them enough. Their lyrics are always talking about how life is worth living and how you shouldnt give up. And how everyones beautiful and important. I think its just a message everyone needs to hear, and they have truly helped me. TSM: WHAT IS YOUR PHILOSOPHY ON MUSIC AND ITS HEALING CAPABILITIES FOR THOSE THAT ARE HAVING A
DIFFICULT TIME? CS: I think that music is one of the best healers out there. Music is such a good healer because one song can describe your situation perfectly. I think with that though, the actual artist helps too. Because by knowing what they went through, it, in a way, shows that you can get through it. too. Music is just a stronghold. Its one of those things that will never leave you. Its just very comforting to know that you can turn to music whenever and it really helps people get by. TSM: THANK YOU, CARLY, FOR TAKING TIME OUT FOR THIS INTERVIEW. IS THERE A MESSAGE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SEND OUT TO THE SCRIPT FOR ALL THAT THEIR MUSIC HAS DONE FOR YOU? CS: Id just want to say thank you so much. Theyve helped me more than I could ever even describe. Theyve kept me going when it seemed impossible and theyve always had my back. They picked me up from a dark place and brought me here. Theyre just my life and for that, I hope theyre doing very well, and Im so proud of how far theyve come. I love them to death, and theyll always be my favorite band. Interviewed by Brittany Samson

‘PEOPLE IN IRELAND SAID, ‘YOU GUYS ARE AN OVERNIGHT SUCCESS’ IF THAT’S THE CASE, IT’S BEEN THE LONGEST NIGHT OF OUR LIVES.’
We tried loads of fourth members, but no one clicked.
‘I was very shy as a kid, that’s probably why I ended up behind a kit of drums.’
Irish people have soul, it comes from generations of pain and understanding.
‘The way Danny sings, the raw emotion, when you hear it in front you, you cannot deny the power.’

The combination of colours in this photo is really interesting. First of all congrats Erin on standing in the front row obviously and secondly, it’s a really good shot. You caught that proud moment of Danny’s.
