Inspired by a project carried out in Boston, USA, the arts organization IMMART presents "Raining Poetry Nørrebro". The interdisciplinary art project held in Nørrebro, Copenhagen (DK) in 2018 centers around the concept of relational aesthetics - we bring art (poetry and performance) out of the private space of art institutions and into one of most used public spaces in society, namely the street.
We take a curated selection of poems based on rain or lack thereof, written by known and unknown poets from Denmark and abroad. We use biodegradable invisible spray paint and write experpts from 27 poems (= nationalities where our district of Nørrebro) in their original in order to reflect diversity in our district and create cross-cultural dialogue.
The poems will be in 22 selected places on inner and outer Nørrebro and the poetry will only be visible when it rains. There will also be poetry readings, street performances and photowalks during over a five week period.
