BENIN CITY-Edo State Police Command has assured of watertight security in the rescheduled All Progressive Congress (APC) ward congress, holding today across the state. The command advised politicians and their supporters to conduct themselves peacefully during and after the exercise as it would not condone any act of lawlessness. The spokesman, Edo State Police Command, DSP Moses Eguavoen stated in an exclusive
chat with The NIGERIAN OBSERVER in Benin City that “adequate security arrangement have been made for the APC ward congress, we are fully ready in Edo”. Dependable source at the police headquarters in Benin hinted our reporter that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Foluso Adebajo may personally visit some of the wards to ensure a water-tight security. It was further gathered that other security agents, including men of the Department of Security Services (DSS) are collaborating with the police in today’s exercise.

Insider sources revealed that intelligent officers have since been deployed to the 197 political wards across Edo State. It would be recalled that the APC ward congresses scheduled to take place nation-wide last Saturday was rescheduled for today in Edo State by the state wing of the party, due to logistics challenges.
