Group urges FG to respect pact with ASUU

BENIN CITYSecretary to Edo State Government, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere said Community-driven Projects are strategic to improving the livelihoods of the people. He stated this yesterday in Government House while receiving a delegation of several associations from Iuleha clan, Owan-West Local Government Area, who came on a ‘thank you’ visit over the successful completion of the renovation of Ekearoma in the community. Commending Edo Community and Social Development Project (Edo –CSDP) for the work it is doing all over the state, prof. Ihonvbere said such projects, if properly structured and led by the right agencies like CSDP could positively
impact the lives of the people tremendously. The SSG, however, advised the people to use the market properly, keep it clean and ensure it creates opportunities to expand businesses in the area. He also promised to look into constructing an Abatoir and providing a proper borehole for the market. Leader of the delegation from Iuleha, Chief Herbert Dogo Omogbai, said the visit was to appreciate Prof. Ihonvbere for paying the counterpart fund on behalf of the community, a development said helped to fast-tack the
developmental projects to be carried out in the constituency. Representative of EdoCSDP, Engr. Osarume Osazuwa said about 170 stalls were renovated with-the budgeted sum of five million naira as against the initial 120 stalls earmarked for the sum, adding that the next project earmarked is the Computer Centre.
