THE Foundation for the Victims of Child Abuse, (VCAF), has warned that the abduction of school girls could discourage parents from embracing girl-child education. by the former Chief of Army Staff, General Abdulrahman Danbazau (rtd), to protect and promote the rights and well-being of victims of child abuse.
Group Urges Security Operatives To Look Out For Conflict Indicators THE Chairman, Christians-Muslims Peace Movement, Aminu Sidi, has called on security agencies to be on the watch out for conflict indicator for earlier detection of crimes in the country. Sidi, a retired Immigration officer, made the call in an interview with newsmen in Bauchi yesterday. The chairman, who spoke on crimes prevention in the country, stressed the need for security agencies to be on watch out for conflict indicators to enable them nip it on
the bud. He called on the Federal Government to be proactive and not to wait for incident to occur before trying to take action. “We are in the world of technology where new technologies could be used to track down perpetrators of crimes,” he said. Sidi urged the political class to reunite in time of conflict to find lasting solution to such problems and stop blaming individuals or groups for being responsible for such ugly trend.
He observed that no rightful thinking person either in the ruling class or in the opposition would like to see the country he was ruling or hoping to rule in future in total ruin. Sidi, therefore, call on Nigerians both within the country and in the Diaspora to seek for ways that could lead to the peaceful coexistence of the country. He observed that the country was undergoing a trial period, especially with the security challenges that had bedevilled the country. The chairman urged
