Building Information :
The clients expectation was to provide a five-star resort in the business hotel market. The location of the development plot at the south side of business bay provides view corridors to Dubai’s newest ares of downtown, Meydan and the Design district, not to mention prime views of burj khalifa.
Due to this location, one of the main architectural design drivers to be utilized was maximizing these unique views.

The focus of this Project’s scope will be the addition of a new world-class hotel tower, approximately G+30 storeys, circa 300 keys, which will enhance the existing 5* resort masterplan. This new tower is intended to be connected via bridge link to the new existing car-park, in addition the creation of a new basement link to the existing LMMS hotel.

CONCEPTUAL DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
Facade Description :
The main façade elements are summarized as follows:
1- In the facade design, the outer curved free form “skin” translates to a roof canopy as well as a large curved structure at the Podium.
2- Intermittent horizontal fins throughout the building made of similar material as the curved façade.
3- the timber ribs at ground level 4- glazed elements, including continuous curtain wall, in between slab curtain wall and glass balustrades.
5- the balcony side walls 6- vertical curved bands and reflective material
Glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) and ultra High Performing concrete (UHPC systems are versatile and can provide panels in almost any shape. A series of different molds can be used to achieve the curved skin façade. the façade can be more cost effective if a repetitive mold is used for the façade. these thin, lightweight materials can reduce the amount of load being applied to the superstructure compared to a traditional precast system.

• Hotel structural design on a radial grid
• This building consists of 4 functions
- Leisure, Hotel, theatre, Conference & Spa. The fire exit design strategy was challenging as the functions circulation are restrictred to over lap.
• Multiple complex scissor staircase resolution to avoid people from various functions overlap their exit route
• Part of the hotel acts like a bridge. To achieve these , various strategies were adapted for structural stability.
• Transferring project to Revit and Enabling BIM for detail design stage.
• 3D printing protypes for Shape study
• Integrating GRP outer skin with the internal Facde.
• Integrating the hotel structure with the theatre using console intervention

Ground floor will serve as the main entrance to each of the buildings with a reception lobby and associated back of house amenities. A retail unit is centrally located within residential block D. The typical building tower plan incorporates some of the most flexible modern planning tools to respond to client’s study for the market by offering different options for rooms.
The core and services such as elevators and majority of the shafts are located within a central core freeing up the floor area for organizing rooms. Stairs are position to the opposite sides of the building to provide efficient evacuation escapes. Those planning guidelines complement each other to create a unique plan which is both functionally and aesthetically pleasing.

Building information :
The village comprises of 120 luxury, premium luxury, and sports brands as well as 11 restaurants. It also contains green spaces, concert stages and a large lake flanking the village provides stepped seating for visitors to enjoy a fountain show along with magical visual projections on the water every night. The project opened in April 2018.
The extension of the project consists of Hotel design as per 4* Grand Hyatt standards. It consists of 135 rooms, Gym, Spa, Bar, All day restaurant & swimming pool.
Tasks :
• Commercial centre - Modification of the entrance to the project. Various sizes of the ‘House’ Modules were studied to entice the public to enter the project.
