SITE PLAN
The Site, Chikkajala fort is 10 kms away from Bengaluru airport. The fort has a Colonnade, a Temple and a Kund. The site has a historical significance, so the research and site study included about the possibilities and stories of what the site could be. So the fort itself is a puzzle to us to find out what it used to be. So as to respecting the historic sense of the site no part of the fort is demolished and the programmes are arranged in and on the existing colonnade and in unbuilt area that are like puzzled pieces. And then there are pathways that leads to every program of the built. So the project is “Puzzled yet Solved”.

The project is about a colonnade flanked by two huge volumes, where the two volumes are the functional blocks and he colonnade is the retail area. The concept of colonnade is from mirrorring the metro pillars and also it gives a ense of welcoming the public to the retail area. And the two volumes with the mezzanine floors, courtyards contain 7 programs and covered with the framed roof with metal panels. The retail space that is located between the two parallel colonnades acts as a grand entry to the building and also attracts people moving oustside the building.

YEAR : 2021 PROJECT TYPE : Disaster Relief Shelter SITE LOCATION : Disaster hit regions in India.
TETRIS COMPETITION BRIEF : AREA: 18 sq.m for a family (incremental) The aim was to design a temporary shelter for natural disaster victims. The challenge is to design a transportable, sustainable shelter that can support a sizable community and requires little maintenance. Making it ideal for deployment to any disasterstricken area lacking basic facilities and it also helps restore personal space and a sense of dignity for the victims.A self-contained, modular refugee-shelter unit is to be designed. It can be mass-produced with a minimum of materials and is easily stockpiled, making it a versatile emergencyshelter unit. TEAM-MATES : K.Bhavana, R.Amruth Sai Charan. MENTORS : Ar.Nishant Bharadwaj, Ar.Mayank Singh

cept is to formulate a flexible and modular housing for disaster victims. The tetris game concept is taken as the usable space. The shelters are strategically placed to provide common spaces for each family by retaining the idea of privacy .The prototypes are designed in a way to fit into each other and form a bigger module. The modules are in a basic shape to emphasize on practical functionality of the design. The prototypes are made of Polycarbonate wall panels which can be unfolded on the site. The folding mechanism makes the transportation and construction easier. The construction can be done by 5-10 people on site.
d
There are two prototypes: living , Bedroom. These prototypes become a module containing a livingspace ,a bedroom and a bathroom. Every prototype is attached with a set of sola-panels which would provide electricity to the in dividual prototype .The bedroom prototype is provided with a water storage system which stores the rainwater. The water system is provided just above the bathrooms which make the circulation of water easier. The water-system contains an R.O purifying system which supplies drinking water to the modules.
>
INSTALLATION
>
- Install the emergency flooring which is developed using wooden pallets. It is a modular flooring sysytem is easier to install. It was introduced by an Indiegogo campaign. - The prototypes are unfolded by removing the interlock between them. - The unfolded prototypes are made rigid by installing wall panels on either side of the structure. - The prototypes are brought together to make modules. - The modules then form clusters.
STACKING PROCESS: The prototypes are interlocked into each other to form a strong bond. This makes it easier to transport.

The lotus leaf has two different patterns : voronoi and venetion network. A surface is created by lofting a curve with two sine curves. By component ‘populate geometry’ we get random points on the surface. Voronoi network: by creating a voronoi boundry with the populated points and by ‘brep I brep’ we get the network on the surface. Venation network: the popultaed points are used to create the network and piped.

RHINOVAULT - GRASSHOPPER - First a planar surface is created. - Then a mesh is created on the surface. - Deconstruct mesh to get vertices. - And mesh edges to get lines. - These lines are multiplied by using number slider to adjust the heigth of the vault. - The vertices are given load to adjust the form of the vault. - Some anchor points are choosen where the vault meets the ground. - the kangroo bouncy solver is used to get the final result of the vault.
