Nils Larsen
The Norwegian voyages to Antarctica led by Nils Larsen, a sea captain, are his most well-known accomplishments. When Larsen graduated from the University of Oslo with a master's degree, he worked for a shipping firm before becoming a well-known whaler. Nils Larsen was also a first mate in Norvegia's Antarctic missions, where he served as a ship's first officer. Norway finally gained control of Bouvet Island and Peter I Island as a result of this scientific trip. As the first person to set foot on the island, Larsen made history.
