this document will show a veriety of different self promotional logo designs following on from the graphic design trends i’d looked into, and how the designs have developed taking inspiration from the trends.
COLOUR SHIFT TREND i’ve used 9A instead of nina as it’s how my eldest brother signs my name in birthday cards,i like that it’s not an obvious symbolisation of nina and think it makes the logo more interesting as it stimulates thoughts behind it’s meaning
i don’t think this logo is very ‘me’, however i like how bold the design is and i think it stands out well, but would need refining back
front
letter spacing i really struggled taking inspiration from this trend, as to create the right look a strong background image is needed to help the typography stand out. as i knew i didnt want photography to be involved it left my logos looking empty and boring
tape it although the tape isn’t seen, it was used to create the ‘N’ template which i then painted over with water colour. overall this trend sutied my style of work better than the others, however i think it looks too hand made
its a wash out this was by far the most inspirational trend for me. it linked in well with the previous ‘tape it’ trend as the watercolour played a big part in this final design. i like the contrast between the hand painted and digital aspects with the use of digital type as a pose to the previous hand made ‘tape’ type
FINAL DESIGN
as shown in the previous designs i’ve experimented with using both Nina and 9A to be within my logo. i went for 9A as i think it stands out more with this particular design and i like the more abstract look it has. ive simply enlarged the front design and used it as part of the back and further added my personal information. i’ve kept it black and white as i think the monochrome style looks classic and minimalistic without being too bold
