General Information & Sale Notes LOCATION: The Sale will be held in the Borderway Mart, Carlisle Cumbria. Motorists should leave the M6 at Junction 43 and follow CARLISLE signs. The Market is on the left hand side of the road within 1/4 mile of M6. VIEWING - The Sale Sheep will be available for viewing at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on the morning of the sale, or Prior Inspection of the sheep is most welcome by appointment with the vendors (see page 1). CONDITIONS OF SALE - Sold under the conditions of sale as recommended by The Livestock Auctioneers’ Association. METHOD OF SALE - All sheep will be sold in guineas (105 pence) and strictly in catalogue order, unless any alteration is announced by the Auctioneers. COMMISSIONS - The Auctioneers will dutifully execute commissions to purchase for buyers unable to attend the sale personally, upon receipt of written instructions. SETTLEMENT AND CLEARANCE OF STOCK - Settlement in full is due immediately at the close of Sale. No animal may leave the Sale Premises without an official ‘Pass Slip’, obtainable only from the Auctioneers upon settlement. MV CREDITED - The College Texel Flock is MV Accredited. Sale from the
COLLEGE TEXEL Flock Following on from our last Texel female sale in January 2015 and an extensive ET programme our numbers are back up to 100 gimmers and one crop ewes. We have taken the hard decision to sell these, with no exceptions the best sheep will be in the sale. We will retain only the ewe lambs and a handful of old faithfulls. The reason for this is twofold; firstly we need to concentrate on a new venture -a free range poultry enterprise to which we need to give 110%, secondly to raise capital for the project. The breeding of these ewes is as before to produce well-muscled shearling rams with great skins and stretch to compete in the top flight at Kelso Ram Sales. Nearly every sheep in the sale will have Brackenridge Strongbow in one side or the other. · · · · ·

Sale highlights at Kelso Ram Sales include the sale of College Special for £11,000 in 2012, the second top price on the day, second to Brackenridge Strongbow. At Kelso In 2014 we sold College Utopia a Brackenridge Strongbow son for £7200 which made the third top price on the day. With the extensive use of Brackenridge Strongbow, who is a high index ram, this sale should appeal to flocks following figures.
